You cannot talk about the "participation trophy" crowd and leave out modern conservatives. Jon Kyl made an argument on the Senate floor that "over 90%" of what Planned Parenthood does is abortions. When it was pointed out that the reality is about 3% he said it was "not intended to be a factual statement" and expected his point to stand. So, he wants ignorance to be as valid as knowledge in an argument. In other words, he wants a participation trophy.

What old Adam doesn't realize is 25 years ago, as he states, the top 1% was paying like 62% tax. Now its what 14% on average for a 1%'er.
