I was in this rock band in D.C. area back in the 70's... disco broke out, we had to conform and got some changes to our sest . Fat Back , Scaggs stuff like that. We got current and stayed in the biza bit longer. I think about 300 bands went out of style in about 2 weeks. Clubs went disco, then they went DJ. To this day if I walk into a club that has a DJ, I leave. Live music actually employs people who have spent time with their instruments and developed their musicianship.

Oh, you did this on purpose? Huh, maybe I should've by bothered to read! Now that I know this was deliberate, that's pretty cool. It does sound like you got the affect you were looking for. I had assumed this was just a weird copy of the song.

There are others who don't like the sped up version of Cheap Trick's "Reach Out" found here, although I swear by it. So to each their own.

I still prefer the original, but keep doing what you're doing. No harm in it. Either way I say bring the funk.

Yeah, I have stanton str8-150 decks which have up to +/- 50%, key correction and reverse to name a few things!

I often play stuff faster when DJing, especially Uplifting DnB :)

Im hoping to do a funky disco mix at some point for upload tho ive been saying that since last year :S

There are a cpl of my mixes playlisted atm but theyre kinda Jazzy to Dark DnB tho the Jazz & Beanstalk mix is nice.

I often mix things like this with disco dnb, mr scruff and other soul grooves. I love the upbeat pace :)

The 7" single in the vid is the vinyl I played, my decks have key correction, I can put the pitch/speed of a record up, but retain the tone/key of the original speed, I do use CD decks for stuff sometimes tho.

well i say that because I've never seen a N.American 45 that doesn't have the paper label on the vinyl. the EU ones are molded completely by a press.

ahh i c, didnt realise that, ive got allsorts so must have a load of US ones and quite a few EU ones, is this just for polydor or certain dates? as i have say stuff on stiff which has a paper label and as far as i know is EU, btw atm im trying to source the old style 3 prong centres in black, though have found sources of the ones in the picture in red, black and yellow they just dont look or work the same/as well, do you know anywhere that still does those? cheers, gav.

i think it's for other record corps but i don't own any. i've just seen them in used stores.

ooooh the centres. yikes i haven't a clue where those are from and where to get them. all i know is they're really really old (40+ years yeah?)
