My little nephew was a finicky eater and hated vegetables. One year I had my sister bring him up to my place and I took him through the garden and had him help me pick green beans, carrots and tomatos. I ate a green bean right off the plant and he was so amazed. He said something like "Uncle Ray, you got to put them in a can before you can eat them". I had him take a nibble and he actually liked it. We ate a few green beans and to this day he likes fresh green beans. Kids are amazing that way.
yes you must can them prior to eating! cant wait to grow some beans next year maybe sara will be like your nephew and like fresh veggies and start her love affair with them at younge age.
That made me laugh that you were surprised the corn looked like corn. :) Kids are fun to garden with...I like to get my kids involved too. They're so amazed by the process of putting a seed in the dirt...and with care...it turns into food. Actually, I'm pretty amazed with the process too. :)
:) well yeah! i was amaized at the corn. its my first corn so as far as i knew ther was purple goo inside of those! lol jk but its great to learn the growing process at the same time as i teach my daughter! i think more and more people are miss out on theese kind experienceses. hopfully i have properly brainwashed her into the the organic way of life :D
