  • I am not sure if I agree with the 'pushing against the wall' instruction. It certainly works that way, but it also makes the basic position a bit uncomfortable, because while you are not doing figures you are pushing for nothing. Plus: the tension you create is not necessary for basic figures like the right turn. I prefer having a relaxed basic position and then asking for tension as soon as I need it (e.g. through a gentle pushing movement in an open break). Great teaching though!

  • Good information especially about the wall that needs to be built. Most amateurs try and get crazy on the dance floor and wack other ppl in their way.
