and that arrogant loser John McenMOUTH the elitest the condescending drone he is put Andy down at least 5 times in this match - he is really a disgrace making fun of Roddick yet during the World team tennis event in NY last July he was kissing Roddicks ass in a major way
Johnny Mac king of all PHONIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAKSTABBING PRICK
why does andy get pissed when he loses to roger?? i mean he's only lost 19 times to him... haha. take it out on the reporters andy, cuz that will help u beat rog.
@nalbandianfan09 probably because, roger has denied him quite few grand slam titles and andy probably figures, roger is the man to beat, if he is going to win another major, but then there is rafa, novak, murray, soderling, berdych..to name a few, who are also trouble.
Roddick is one of the nicest guys around. He's humble, gracious, honest and just plain cool. I'm glad he got rid of Connors, who was making him swagger and behave badly. Andy's done a lot with what he got. way to go.
have you met the guy? hes actually a real nice guy, but at the press conferences he is answering honestly. would you rather have someone b.s. their way out of the press or would you rather hear the truth?
you have to understand how he's feeling during this press conference. he's starting to realize that he will never live up to the hype the US media gave him years ago. he's starting to realize he's a loser. if mens tennis had any kind of depth, he would consistently be ranked around 20th. he's got a bomb of a serve and nothing else.
If it is that easy then why isn't everyone in the top 20? Rafael got his ass kicked by #23 ranked Robin Soderling. Soderling never would have broken the top 20 without beating a top 8 player.
The only thing harder than getting in the top 8 i staying there and Roddick has been in the top 8 for nearly a decade.
@billyg0789 agreed met Andy down in DC @ the Legg Mason he stood outside the press booth in 100 degree heat with an ice pack strapped to his shoulder and signed everything took him about 45 min's . Conversely when coming into contact with RF b4 he was the grand champion he was not a nice guy sort of a get away from me European snooty type attitude. Somehow the idiot press in USA portrays him as something different - what a Suprise !
I´ve come to the conclusion, that andy should not really concentrate on winning itself, but rather more so in his performance, when he plays roger. The night of the 07usopen, he played his best, although he looks really sad in this interview, probably because his effort drained him so much emotionally, mentally spiritually, I respect and like andy a lot, he´s a true and sincere competitor..
Well agree w/ u almost completely. I mean he does still need to focus on winning, but of course focusing more on his own performance is more important. Yea he is dissapointed that arguably his best performance against Roger didnt end up in a victory.
I think in this case, winning should be seen as a consequence, not an objective, when normally it is quite the opposite..that match was a really great one to see, I wish I could have seen it live..
i c ur point, but i think winning always has to be the goal here and it always will b w/ Andy. Andy is not and will not b happy w/ playing amazing tennis and still losing. People dont give him credit for playing his best and still losing to Feds. Sadly, they'll only recognize when he beats Federer.
I don´t believe that, in this particular match I think he earned a lot of respect for his valiant effort, he didn´t step out on that court half assed that night..I´m sure whoever knows the game, must have apreciated that..
True, i guess the poeple that matter will always respect his play. However those other people will only respect him when he beats roger, and thats just wrong.
very true. if he served and volleyed w/ his serve, it would b a hgue asset to his game. thats what jimmy was trying to work on hi w/, but his new fiancee ruined that partnership...
but jimmy resigned because of traveling issues,he wasn´t fit to travel all over the place..I don´t see how his fiancé has anything to with it.besides she´s hot! andy must be tapping that ass every day..
well andy wanted to go right to Ny after 1 of his tournaments to c her and Jimmy did not want to fly all the way there. So then they started to discuss how it wasnt working out.
And i dont think shes attractive at all, he could do MUCH better. She eve nahs a horrific boob job.
she´s pretty I looked at her well at the miami tournament this week, sitting on the stands,if she´s a good person that´s what matter´s,andy must like big boobs..
Brooklyn Decker is absolutely gorgeous. I agree that Mandy was better for him, but shes a swimsuit model for goodness sakes! I personally think shes really reeeeeeally hot
He doesn't really think he can beat him. He can keep saying it all he wants but how can you beat someone when all you have going for you is just a serve, an average forehand, and a week backhand and most of all he has no mental toughness....I'm very surprised he's still in the top ten. If the other players learn to just punch the ball back when he serves instead of swinging at it, he'll drop his high ranking.
Yea all those weak points are exactly y he won the US Open. And more recently, Dubai, San Jose, AAmI Classic...do i need to go on, im starting to get carpal tunnel.
But anyway if he "just had a serve" he wouldn't have stayed in the top 10 for 7 yrs straight.
I see we have a roddick fan....It's obvious that your not going to bwe in the top ten if you don't win a few tournaments but we're not talking about that, we're talking about GRAND SLAMS and not what he did 5 years ago and if you can't realize the points I'm making then I guess this debate is going no where. Just keep an open mind!!
haha i love having tennis convo's with peopele is awesome...well ive been watchin and studying tennis my whole life...ive learned a long time ago that tennis is more mental than a physical sport, feeling sorry for some1 for never beating federer is no excuse for that guy to one if he gives his best. after the last time they played each other they asked federer if sometimes he feels sorry for him he said "he didnt feel sorry for me when he beat me in 2003 and prevented me from the #1spot so idont
yea i dont fell sry for him either, i mean its kinda like wut he said in the vid, if he even felt sry for himself hed b a huge asshole. yea tennis is very much a mental sport.
That is a valid point. Honestly i mean Fedeer does outplay him, i mean otherwise he would win more. But there are times i feel that Andy played so well that it just doesnt make snese y he didnt. Ive even met some die hard fed fans that sometimes say it was hard to want andy to lose. Sometimes wanting it more doe not translate into actually winning it.
I trully respect your opinion and i dont feel like iehter of us are going to back down from our arguements, so would u like to call a truce?
announcer said "a little while ago roddick was talking to my brother saying he cant help it hes having SO much FUN...down 2 sets and up a break, u think hes having fun now??"so if your playing your heart out and the guy in front of you isnt and he beats you, u just have to accept he was the better man that night, in my eyes FEDERER deserved that W. and on your comment on federer showing no emotion? watch the australian open 06 and see if the man has emotion or not.
and also u said fed doesnt care anymore or he has no emotion??? there was a man they used to say those same words about and he became the top guy to hold grand slam titles(sampras). Seems like roddick is having TOO much fun out there. our there to win matches.funny how u said he doesnt care when hes almost ALWAYS that last one to laugh and enjoy himself at tournaments. big example i can give you was at the USO 06' when he was stayin toe 2 toe with fed and he started to get hammered in the end..
Of course federer cares, i just feel that Andy wants it more and it means more to hiim. Also, i feel that its great that Andy is having fun, if he wasnt then what is the point of going out there. As he said if u go out there and dont have fun than u need to get some seious perspective.
KAMPV1091 ur have your own opionion and ur entitled to that but please do not say things that are false...andy wanted it more that fed??if he wanted it more than fed he would have won that match if ur sayin he was playin better the mans faced him 16 times and won 1 of those... stats do not lie my friend. and if tony roche(federer's last coach) is correct and i do believe he is, federer is going to get better with age but only time will tell.
Ok about the comment I made early, ruffrider285. I know that of course the person that won obviously played better. The point i was making was that Andy wanted it more and played arguably the best tennis i have ever seen him play. I felt that he deserved to win b/c Andy played his heart out that night and Feds almost didnt even seem to care. What annoys me about Federer is that he doesnt who emotion.
if federers mental or his play was a little bit low this night it prob wouldve been 76 76 the other way around but this is why he is number 1 for a reason. djokovic beats fed at the semi's at the AO and all of a sudden HES THE GUY???? lets see how consistent this man stays throughout the year, federer got outplayed that night he didnt make excuses but the bottom line is he still is the MAN. all you have to do is check his ranking and until nadal, djokovic, or roddick get the #1 spot
Of course we cant assume Djokovic will b number 1 this year, forom his wining 1 tournament. But i do think that Federe's cycle in the world of tennis is coming to a close. He had an amazing few years and i think they are over now.
just like the great andre agassi said at the open during the match.."you dont have to be the better player, you just have to be better than your opponent THAT night" roddick was up a set against fed at WIMB 04 64 in the 1st, and wat happened federer outplayed him "consistantly" and beat him in 4 sets and that was said to be roddicks best match and he still lost.this match 76 76 in the first two he got outplayed this night his mental i believe was close to perfect because he had nothing to lose
he deserved to win that match???? wat the hell is that....look im a federer fan and not a roddick fan but u people need to realize that if somebody loses it is because he either got outplayed by the oppopent or or he lost his own focus and just played shitty....in tennis all you can say is that the WINNER deserved to win. federer is FEDERER because no man has done these two things as consistantly as him. that is way he has been number 1 for over 4 years straight already.
They repeatedly ask the same questions, i mean i would b pissed off if they did that to me. SOmetimes they dont even ask questions and they just amke ignorant statements that they expect him to respond to, which are just plain insulting.
I think that anyone who can create humor out of a bad situation is amazing and that is what Andy does. He doesnt abuse the journalists, he just lets them know when theyre askign stupid and ignorant questions. Everyone feels that way, he just has the balls to let them know about it.
that's the nature of the job...journalists put themselves in the position to possibly be attacked by players, stars, etc...some of the shit they say is just uncalled for, and they are fishing for the athletes or whomever to say things that might be disagreeable to the public...and journalists also fish for ways to stir up controversy and turn a player's actual words into something different...long story short, they get what's coming to them, and are lucky that they don't get attacked more often
very interesting argument, but the thing I like is how andy roddick doesn´t buy in to the bullshit! he´s really transparent and sincere, he doesn´t try and be a puppet to please the press..
lol exactly....neither do Venus or Serena, and a few others I can't think of right now....be true to yourself, and what you think/believe...it's those players that say a few things that people won't agree with every now and then (Federer) that I don't like...it makes you seem fake.
