Please let me know a way for learning more about electronics. I've bought the art of electronics but it dosn't really say what i want to know. It is definately packed with theory but very few fun to make circuits.
@cyberdems FM transmitters are really easy to make. People have been making them for years and years. But AM bands are more interesting. And the signals travel very far unlike FM.
FM is nice for local and a nice modulation, and AM is nice for DX
I can tell that it is possible with only 1Watt to transmit from the Netherlands to Germany
200kM my antenna was a inverted V – small Xtal transmitter hombrew on 6300kHz

@JasonDolan AM only goes far with a good antenna and a lot of power. An fm oscillator always wins it from an AM one.
