Awesome vid! Sometimes I worry about the intelligent, rational folks in the US! Good to see you are out there still. Great response and please, please, don't ever shut up!
I'm a pantheist and I thought the round table was utterly ridiculous. They didn't even include a nontheist in the discussion. Thank you for your logic & reason. I'm tired of Christianity imposing itself so much in public venues.
God says he is not a respecter of person, it means He sees us all fairly in His sight..hope everyone would care to know God and read the bible..Our real enemy is not our neighbor it's the devil..The one who would really like to separate us from God, but the Bible says He is already defeated..But still love prevails and the prophecy of the Bible is still coming to pass..God loves us so, so He would not condemn us of our sins, He said that from the Bible..
Only christians think the word of god is the bible. I get muslims telling me that the word of god is the koran so I choose to realize both books are just mythology.
I just want to say God is working in wondrous ways..without Him, His love and grace we would never leave because he says He is the breath of life..He is the God of love and anyone who doesn't know Him never really find out the reason to live..
Those who reason,Qoran has scientific facts that are proved in today' science. Here is the PROOF, visit this link and listen to testimony of expert scientists from different fields abt scientific facts in the Qoran, islamyesterday com/science/
After, ask yourself, who wrote the Qoran? Plz be civilized and do not curse anyone, if you disagree come up with a logical explanation. keith Moore an expert on Embroyology from Toronto Univ, has descriptions from the Qoran in his books
The Koran got luck on a few pieces of information but it's also very barbaric. MohomMAD had some other person write it since mohamMAD was too illiterate and couldn't write. It is illogical scientifically to think mohamMAD wrote off on a horse into heaven. It is illogical to think martyrs are in heaven and also get 72 wives.
I was at a school awards ceremony(for my mathematical brilliance), and we still had prayer. One of the teachers actually opened with a prayer to the Christian god. I knew for a fact there were Jews and Muslims in attendance, as well as atheist(s) as myself. In some places there is still organized prayer.
A school event? May I ask what school district? It happened here in Round Rock, Texas but a slightly different thing. The Superintendent allowed students to include a prayer in the ceremony. He refused to back it out and stated the lawyers said it was ok. I called him and explained to him the error.
No, I have never said that. I have always said that people are free to pray, go to church, start a church but not violate the separation of church and state.
Very good calm editorial about the Paula Zahn segment. Except for a slight hint of reason from the male guest, it was outrageously one sided. The "they need to shut up" comments have only prompted me to be more vocal. Great job on the video.
I care when it interferes with US law and is place in public schools or government. If you mean the words they used then why not smear blacks, Jews, women or hispanics? Who cares? :)
If Christians followed the Bible, they would have removed prayer from schools themselves. Matthew 6:5-6 (summarized as... dont pray in public, pray in private)
I think its pathetic that in the US people say 'happy holidays' to avoid offence, if I get a 'merry xmas' im not fussed, if somebody said 'happy Eid' im not fussed, in fact its more honest that the PC 'happy holidays' ive even heard 'Happy winter' BLOCH (i like winter anyway!) its that supposed separation of church/state that drives religion in the US.
I would agree, it doesn't matter what you wish someone during a holiday especially since Christmas was a pagan holiday adopted by various religions very much like the idea of the messiah.
I think the problem is that non religious folk feel threatened when they observe certain radical christian groups in the united states.
i still 'do' christmas but only in the same way as millions do likewise, its nothing more than a way to lighten the winter with family with the nostalgia of a gift laden childhood, for me the religious meaning is absolute zero.
Same here. My entire family observes it so I see no need to argue. However, when someone says Jesus is the reason I politely go into how Sol Invictus was celebrated and how xianity plagurized that holiday.
I spent last christmas in Japan, and that's definitely the way to go. Everybody celebrates christmas, and nobody is christian. You hang out with your friends, and then spend the day with people you care about.
I understand your annoyance but Michael Shermer has done studies that indicate levels of religiousity go hand in hand with lower education in the sciences. Sadly, my America is part of the problem.
"Europe is falling" - haha! Europe is mostly secular. When you exclude Poland and maybe Spain and Italy, the majority in European countries dosn't care about religion.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond to that pitiful excuse for a discussion of Atheism... I'm sure that the next worthy topic on the Zahn show will be about "How come it's so much fun to beat gay people?"
Kudos to the dude on the panel that stood up to those ignorant women.
Good point about prayer in school. Also remember that when one room school houses included prayer, those were not public schools. They were built with private funds by the community.
I just watched the CNN round table, and then your response. I'm a Christian (born and raised in Georgia) and I understand and respect everything that you are saying. And even though I believe in God, I do agree with the money ordeal as well as the, "One nation under God" ordeal.
Awesome video! Thanks for posting! Keep up the good work!

Religiou extremists want freethinkers to shut up because they can't stand to have the light of reason shined on their beliefs and actions.

Public education is also based on PUBLIC knowledge which faith is most certainly not. Faith is a decidedly private belief which is not justified.
I want all of these people to read the Treaty of Tripoli which states that the U.S. is in no way a Christian nation.
