  • this is great! Is this also written for voice? 'Cause it would be a delightful Choral piece... wanna arrange this... can I?!!

    Thanks!

  • do u use a program to write the notes down and play them? in that case, what program`?

  • Can i buy/download the sheets anywhere?

  • Sublime dude

  • mine is E flat major!

  • Brilliant

  • I never understand when people prefer one key over another (except for reasons of fingering and coordination with other instruments or voice, or perhaps for those with perfect pitch). I think all tempered keys in the same mode sound the same. Of course, if a piece modulates from one key to another, the specific target key becomes very important. If different keys truly felt different, then wouldn't A=473 feel different, and maybe "better", than A=440? It's a reductio ad absurdum!

  • @david203 We're all different and therefore are more attuned to different things. Quod Erat Demonstratum.

  • @david203 If you have perfect pitch the keys all sound very different. My personal favorites are C# and F# minor

  • @AbsoluteZ3R0 Agreed! My favourite major key is D flat; to me it's just... lush, for want of a better word. It just has something that none of the other major keys have, and I think it's great for tranquil, pensive, sentimental pieces. As for minor keys, I like C# minor too. And I love the richness of C minor.

For me there's quite a big difference in sound between the flat keys and the sharp keys. Of course, that's until you get to the signatures with 6+ sharps/flats, and they start to blend.

  • E minor is the most funereal.

  • B minor makes me want to dagger myself even having taken two Zolofts.

  • This is great! This makes her songs sound soo much better. ;-)

  • Nice... Britney goes barroque!

  • Love this one, too. As per the Lady Gaga, let me know if you're interested in me scoring these and including them in some concerts that I'll be holding this year. Thanks!

  • Outstading!!

  • You are my hero! Thank you for this. I love your work.

  • wow making MUSIC out of crap. Amazing work!

  • Just wonderful. The difference between music and music.

  • Please transcribe for sax quartet.

  • Excellent! This is a way I can finally listen to Britney Spears without wanting slit my wrists.

  • Molto bravo!!!

  • I think it would be fun to make it with vocal ensemble..The notes gets separate?

  • Geniale.

  • Really nice. Would like to play it at concert, can we ?

  • @viennachan1 as far as I'm concerned... it would be great!

  • Sin duda, todo es susceptible de ser mejorado....Bravo!

  • Brilliant!!

  • You just made my day :) Thank you so much for sharing this and conceiving it too.

  • This is actually very nice.

  • Ingeniously composition and with much humor.

  • This is so witty and clever! The descending chromatic lines on "loneliness"; the sudden flourish of 16ths on "give me a sign"; the recap in F Major suggesting a resolution of the opening D Minor "agitato"; the use of a duet texture to lament "my loneliness"... I especially love the sequential repetitions of "did it again", and the way the sequences completely alter the harmonies. Of course, the juxtaposition of texts about her own loneliness and reducing others' loneliness goes without saying!

  • this is amazing! hahaha its so epic

  • @guitarslim56 IMO the saddest is B minor. Just listen to any of Shostakovich's works in that key :)

  • @LordN3mrod

In fact, "pop corn" is in B minor, too :D

  • 100th Like. :-)

  • And who says pop music can't be interesting...

  • lol

  • watch?v=mXIltZCAaxE

(Taneyev's specialized field of study was counterpoint. He engrossed himself in the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Giovanni Palestrina and Flemish masters such as Johannes Ockeghem, Josquin des Prez and Lassus. Eventually, he became one of the greatest of contrapuntalists)

  • @TheForestHedgehog opinions vary, and the jury is still out on that one.

  • you should try a fugue for an Iron Maiden song like hallowed be thy name, dance of death or no more lies.. the vocal lines are great! it would be interesting :P

  • D minor is the saddest of all keys.

  • @colourfulwithaU Dude, it's a reference to "This is Spinal Tap". Nigel said that line and proceeded to play a very sad composition of his: "Lick My Love Pump".

  • @guitarslim56 i feel D minor powerful, the saddest is F# minor I think, it is so lonely.

  • @guitarslim56 i feel D minor powerful, the saddest is F# minor I think, it is so lonely.

  • @MegaUpstairs poor guy, watch spinal tap and delete your messages :D

  • @guitarslim56 ur mom is the saddest of all keys

  • @guitarslim56 All minor keys are "sad". If you transpose this to C minor it would still sound sad

  • @guitarslim56 I respectfully disagree... C# minor makes me need a Zoloft.

  • Absolutely love this!

Not sure I'm convinced by the repeated E in the bass at 23 though... I'm leaning towards a D at that point!

  • This is absolutely wonderful! I hope I'll be able to write something at least vaguely similar to this someday.

Lei, signore, è un genio. Devo dire che sono veramente stupito. Davvero brillante!

  • Man, you do great things. Especially with little material to work with. Keep them coming! Thanks

  • grande!

  • Oops i farted again... oh wait... xD

  • D minor? Again? Is that your favourite key?

  • @colourfulwithaU I chose D minor for a matter of registers. If you notice the piece could hypothetically be performed by female choir, a couple of violins doubling the choir, and continuo section. Anyway: yes, I love D minor..

  • @artofcounterpoint D minor iz da BOMB, yo! It falls nicely under the hand on the keayboard, and for organ music it allows the full use of the lower register while still providing a leading tone (C-sharp minor works for that too, but really?). Hang on, tonus primus!

  • @artofcounterpoint Please record it that way! :)

  • @artofcounterpoint why does it sound happy if its in a minor key?

  • @estring123 Even minor keys can have major chords in them. Plus, because there are so many extra sharps and flats added, the key changes quite often. In fact, most of this piece is in major keys. The middle section (oops I did it again) is in C Major. The return of the opening, towards the end, is in F Major.

  • @artofcounterpoint To quote the great Spinal Tap - D Minor is the saddest of all keys.

  • I must confess...I didn't believe you could produce something so awesome! Proved me wrong :)

  • My most sincere applause.

  • That is just brilliant!

nothing more to say, sorry ;)

I'm gonna download the score now and give it a try. It's the perfect mix of classical music and modern music! I'm kinda looking for sth. like this a couple of weeks now :)

  • wow, thats talent :D counterpoint is so intricate and complex, wish i could master it haha xx

  • Awsome!!! for the people that doesnt understand Counterpoint or FUga now can more or less imagine whats that...or the way the people were thinking to write the music..awsome....is also very good fo people that study music ..make it easier :)

  • wonderful its amazing how moving and dramatic it is.

  • This is amazing... I usually dislike all kinds of Pop music, but this arrangement is amazing! :D Wonderful!
