Well, I dunno if the people have spoken, but health reform is set to pass on Xmas eve, and then in the House in January. So...maybe you just tuned in but instead of saying "heartlass liberal fucks" you could pay attention to who is watering down this bill. The majority of Democrats want a strong public option that would lower your healthcare costs. Six of them don't. That's where all this compromise comes in. As for Republicans, not a one will vote for this bill.

Are you serious? Please. How about extending unemployment benefits, drastically reducing the cost of Cobra insurance for people when they lose their jobs just to name a couple of things. How about saving the country from sinking into a depression. The Bush administratin fiddled whille the country burned into a deep recession. I'm torn about this as well. From what I understand, this bill will force people to get health insurance without lowering costs. However, when Social Security passed in 1935, it excluded agricultural farmers, self-employed, and many other categories. In other words, a weak bill turned into one of the most successful government programs of all time. Would you rather they pass a weak bill now and make it better?

I thought this was great! The fact is the Republicans only complained and never had to have their plan scrutinized point by point.. Isn't it also interesting that the people that were against healthcare reform are by and large people who's campaigns are bought and paid for by the healthcare companies. Way to go Democrats and President Obama. President Obama has done more for this country in 11 months than Bush did in 8 years and everybody knows it.
