I love the z06 but why is the zr1 compared to the GTR? the zr1 has 640 hp.... the GTR has 530 hp... just saying. if you're talking about just the z06, the GTR beats it because of more hp, awd, etc.

I'm 36, I can buy virtually any car I want, and I choose the Z06. Just ordered my 2nd Z06 Z07 w CFZ carbon fiber pkg. Also on my 4th Infiniti, so I am a fan of Nissan products as well. The GTR I feel is a great car, but overpriced. I am not bald, and I do not have gray hair, and I love Corvettes. Since I was a kid.

I've hear it's faster without lc & not by a small margin, but by more than a tenth :-( kinda was hoping this would help drop times further more, rather than just be a consistancy thing. This is my 1st time seeing this vid though & it looks like they r saying it's better than what I've seen in other (non chevy) testing vids. I wanna know more! off to find out :-)

Bottom line is the computer does all of the work for you in the gtr. You do not have to have any driving skill to drive it to its limits... well not as much anyway. The corvette takes skill to drive, so yes the gtr is faster if both were in the hands of an average driver. The zo6 is faster if both were in the hands of a skilled driver.

wow i can't believe all the shit talking about the GTR, a car that weighs a lot more then the GTR and has a less powerful turbo v6 and yet still beats the z06 and every competition, im not hating the z06 its just facts that the GTR is a better car, and yes nissan has a new software where you can now use the launch control without voiding the warranty. i look at the z06 and GTR to be 2 of the best bang for your buck supercars.

It beats the Z06 at the Nur. track. And thats pretty much about it. The Z06 is faster. Best record to date on a stock Z06 is 10.85. The skyline has not beat that. And they are selling the GTR for 95k+ thats close to ZR1 territory which the GTR cannot come close to. I have seen these cars both run on the street. And the Z06 is much faster in stock form.

All in all they are awesome machines. But I must say Nissan deserves to be talked shit about after the stunt they pulled with the warranty.

@steven4rmnewyork I think you guys don't understand that it is much more than $1,800 to be repaired. It is $1,800 in parts, which is expensive btw and more than double that in labor. Shops can rebuild it for that. Most transmissions brake soft parts and the kits are much cheaper than $800 for HD kits. $1,800 is alot for parts which mean some hard parts are getting replaced. I doubt you are taking that transmission out yourself so $1,800 is a freakin joke.

The Vette ZR1 is a nice car but for 120k they could make it a little nicer inside, by using finer leather and better trim like it's rivals in the same price range. It's undisputedly one of the fastest cars ever built. I hope GM stays in business.
