this is rubbish i got to 11000kb my way.

On my way click...

1.) Options > Prefrences > Bandwidth

2.) Where it Says 'Number of Connections' make the First box 200 second box 500 and the last 4.

3.) Click > Apply > Ok.

4.) Go Back To Options > Prefrences and then This Time BitTorrent

5.)Where It Says 'Protocol Encryption' make the 'Outgoing' Forced.

6.)Next to where it says FORCED Click The Tick Box. Now Just Click OK!

Just FYI it doesn't speed up the download speed, it speeds up the amount of seeds that are gained meaning that the download will start faster and/or will get to it's max download peak faster.

@xFrisz leechers are the people downloading the file.. so for ex if you have exmovie.avi with 20 seeders (the people that already have the movie downloaded) and 2 leechers (the people currently downloading the file) you will have a relatively good speed when you download... as oppose to exmovieB.avi with 20 seeder and 30 leechers, where you have more people trying to get a piece of the pie and not enough pie to go around.. get it? hope it helps.

Disable Firewalls? Sure maybe software firewalls, but NOT hardware NAT ones. Disabling a Firewall doesn't speed you up by much if anything. If you've only got a software Firewall, do not disable it! As for the "magic numbers" where the hell did he get those?! You don't need "magic numbers" you need the right numbers for you. Swamping yourself in connections is stupid. Enabling encryption will only work if your ISP shapes torrent activity AND doesn't shape unknown (encrypted) activity by default.
