Sometimes I went to the Cosmo Canyon, into this Room with the Stars ... just to hear this music ... then I put the controller away and heard this for many hours because its so beautiful. I was sooooo sad after I finished the game =( ... Final Fantasy 7 is the best FF of all ... I played FF8 and 10 even 13 ... but somehow FF7 is the best.

This song means more to me than nearly anything. It fills me with both great joy and deep sweet sorrow. VII is my favourite game ever and this song takes me back to my childhood. Where I feel that the world is still new, that there's so much out there for me to find and explore. If I'm happy it saddens me and vice versa. It mixes feelings or heroism with enigmatic, mysterious ambience. Which VII is so full of. <3 Sorry for the silly ramble! Had to get that out...

From back in the days when music in video games was actually music (although it was usually 16-bit MIDI)... sigh... Nowadays video music tends to be all over-the-top, in-your-face, but as this tune shows subtlety and simplicity can be more effective.

I also like the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion soundtrack, very similar to Nobuo Uematsu's in that it has simple 'themes' and the music never overwhelms the game. Would like to see a collaboration between Uematsu and whoever wrote that music...
