  • BRYUH PATCH.

  • Oh WOW!!! This used to be my favorite record when I was little!!! Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • Awesome video! Thanks for the upload! Song of the South was the first movie that I ever saw in a theatre and I also had this same book as a child. Brings back the memories.

  • Can you upload Who framed roger rabbit.

  • I used to listen to this growing up. The Amos n Andy style of line delivery boggles my mind as I'm listening to it now. Until the age of ten, I thought all black people talked like the Kingfish.

  • I USED TO LOVE THIS RECORD!!!!!

  • So the HERO of the story punches someone else due to bad manners?

    Not something you see anymore.

  • @CallinWire I think the point is that he has lessons to learn. And he does..

  • I used to have this storybook and the record (put on tape)!

  • fantastic vid :D

  • This is NOT racist. If you have a problem with it then perhaps YOU are racist. This is a classic. Song of the South was awesome. I wish I had a grandfather as nice as that Uncle Remus!

  • Oh man! I used to have this as a kid. I never understood there WAS racism in it until my mom had to explain it to me.

If anything, the most offensive part was the storyteller's voice acting.

  • I have this on cassette which I got it at a yard sale along with other cassettes on some VHS tapes. I still need to find this on vinyl with the book. Thank's for uploading this I will post this soon when I find the book and record.

  • SAID BRER FOX

    SAID BRER FOX

    SAID BRER FOX

  • OMG this reminds me of being a little kid having trouble sleeping at night. Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! It brings me back sooo much :) I realize now how damn racist this is. When I was little I just thought it was kind of a mean story.

  • omg!! this brings back SO MANY childhood memories... <3

  • Said Brer Fox, Said Brer Fox, Said Brer Fox.

  • I had this!!!!! But I think mom took it away a long time ago, good memories!

  • I think you record player did some skipping during this story

  • OMG!!! This was the best childrens book ever!!!....Did you hear me? The best EVER! I love the chimes when it was time to turn the page. I played this thing on my Fisher -Price record player! If thats not old school, then I dont know what is. And I find it on YouTube....I couldnt be happier...

  • I totally had this exact recording when I was little. And a lot of others.

    TALK about nostalgia.

  • "Song of the South" really needs a Blu-Ray/DVD release in the U.S.

  • @johnnyv418 That's right! Sure would LOVE to have my own copy! What fun the songs are! : ) <3

  • Strongly agree! There MUST be a release! I LOOOOOVE the songs! That would be nice if the next generation would enjoy a blu ray/DVD release! Stop with the bootleg copies! Pullllllllllll-ease!

  • thanks for this, never thought i'd see it again after all these years!

  • I wonder if the narrator was credited in this book?

  • @DELIVEREE I believe the narrator was Uncle Remus(James Baskett)

  • @TheEndofBeginnings Baskett passed away before this album existed.

  • i know all the words...use to watch this all the time...still makes me laugh today

  • Very well done. What software did you use to combine the audio and video and the page turning effect.

  • I just used the windows movie maker and sound recorder. Stuff that just comes with the computer.

  • Can you upload The Haunted Mansion and Robin Hood please?.

  • I do have Robin Hood. No Haunted Mansion. Perhaps I will put it on here when I have time.

  • The 1973 or 1977 Read Along version?

  • Looks like it is 1973 copywrite.

  • this isn't nearly as racist as a lot of bugs bunny cartoons. most notably by artists like bob clampett.

  • OH WOW!! I STILL have all of my Disney records like this...including this one!!! I just wish I still had my fisher price record player so my kids could hear em!!! CLASSIC!

  • Thanks for posting this - I loved this record when I was kid!

  • I had never listened about this story until I read Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad book.

He uses this tale as a metaphorical example of how to deal with emotions represented by the Tar Baby, avoiding them to rule our mind.

  • Tell me, god 1313. Who, may I ask, narrated this story and laughed?

  • I could not find a credit to the narrator. Only the singers of the two songs.

  • I remember this. (I am 40) I had this along with the Disney Donald Duck record player. Looking back it's soooooooooo racist. But dems dere wuz diffurent times!

  • Hahaha I remember this.

  • Good Times!!

  • No, it is not

  • i haven't seen this for 30 yrs. I'm going to look for our copy. thanks.

  • is this KKK propaganda?

  • No, just a bit of history.
