  • what year is this talking about?

  • Yep the drought was very bad - i think it is over now

  • Hey, I'm from australia and not all of us agree with it I don't there are power hungry people but some of us just want to get out of this drought alive. I don't care about coal i could just ride my bike to work. Don't label us.

  • Hey, I'm from aus and not all of us agree with it I don't there are power hungry people but some of us just want to get out of this drought alive. I don't care about coal i could just ride my bike to work. Don't label us.

  • Lesson No.2. But that means the DOWN-STREAMERS get the left-over water. If any. Solution? WAR! But actaul war is not an option. Instead, we over-allocate water. And when someone says STOP pumping it from the rivers, the Irrigators cry WAR! And become hysterical. So we run away scared. I say, now that there is plenty of H2O they should DOUBLE their irrigated land & take all the water NOW. Then they can die come the next (and GREATEST ever) El Nino. Talk about palnning for a rainy day! LOL.

  • Originally, the arid areas of Australia were not sold to Free-hold. They were granted as PERPETUAL Leases, which is a contradiction. A lease is NOT perpetual. But, if there was enough wtaer, well, that would make every thing opposite. But instead, we have an upside down World in Australia. Arid land sustained by water flowing by, not coming from the ski. And who owns this water? We all do! Except I BAGS IT FIRST. End of logic lesson No.1.

  • And just to finish off this - 'cos I will NOT respond to anyone who disagrees - I'm prepared to wait 40 years to see the truth of the Climate Change Hoax. There is no such thing as Global Warming - it's a God-damned LIE! The ice caps are not melting; glaciers undergo shrinkage and growth cyclically; global temperature depends when and where you measure it (easy to rig data here); polar bears are NOT dying out; etc, etc, etc. It's all a fraud! Only morons are buying it.

  • PanzerBlitz43 might like to suggest we all go to Nuclear or Solar or Thermoelectric overnight. As if! Every year China puts millions of gas guzzlers on the road. Talk to China if you've a problem with Oz exporting coal. China's economy drives the planet and for its economy to thrive it needs energy. China isn't going to go nuclear tomorrow - they keep uranium to make bombs! China produces MORE coal than Oz - they use ours 'cos it's hi quality and easily available. BTW, climate change is a lie.

  • Brownlow4lyf is right. Australia has always been beset by droughts and floods. Back in '74 Brisbane had a worse flood than the current on. Back then, the 'experts' said the world was getting colder. Getting Colder, Getting Hotter... these scientists change their mind to get their papers published and to make their names.... and to stay 'in' with the prevailing tide of thought.

As for Oz being hypocritical, the EU only backed Kyoto 'cos it was moving to nuclear. Nuclear is eco friendly!? As if!

  • @AustralianAreRacists ...it's good to know there's people as sick as you to make the world a better place! That ignorance doesn't always lead to an almost sadistic and twisted blind indifference towards others...

And hey, even though I'm an atheist I'll give it a go:

May god bless and save you.

    ..(from yourself).

  • Drought is because of global warming, floods are because of global warming. What isn't? I don't deny climate change, but seriously Australia has weather to the extremes for as long as anyone I know can remember. Drought is nothing new or unexpected.

Like others have said, to really find out whether the climate in Australia is drastically changing you need thousands of years of data.

  • For true climate data, we need to go back

    120 000 years

    see: Milankovitch cycles

  • Just would like to say to you all, the drought in Australia broke in 2009, precipitation is fantastic in 2010.

Australia is very diverse climatic zone on this planet, for true climate data, we need 2000/5000 years of data. 200 years means nothing!

  • In the northwestern Australia, we have huge tides,

huge evaporation and huge dry rivers and lakes.

Tides are up to 12m. Evaporation is up to 4m per year and can be increased.

Huge 12m tidal erosion can revive old dry paleo dormant once mighty rivers, creeks and lakes,

desalinate the country and change deserts to rain forests to provide more rain across Australia.

World population is growing rapidly and we need more energy, food, land and water.

    see: mitic climate engineering

  • sure, we produce shit loads of coal but most of it gets exported. America china and india produce the most pollution. We were trapped in the El Niño system for years, the entire country was in drought, it had nothing to do with global warming. Now we are in La Niña system which means the country is getting heaps of rain.

  • we have drought here in Nebraska, proof

go to (Nebraska bone dry desert)

  • Aside from the obvious hypocrisy of other countries like Japan, Australia pretends they're "concerned" about global warming but they're also hypocrites. Australia is a top producer of millions of tons of coal in every state of australia-and coal is the worst culprit in global warming. They use this dirty coal for their own energy and 75% of it is exported to Asian countries which don't give a crap either. Australia's government and corporations are sacrificing their own country for greed

  • @PanzerBlitz43 Hello. The problem is not that Australia produces COAL as fast as it can, because the OIL producing countries do THE SAME (Coal & OIL are not identical in their application) but that You and I and, increasingly, so too are 6.5 billion other people, CONSUMING. But it is true that Australians are sacrificing their country. Why? Because we are not a society of people. We are individuals persuing our own interests. Eg: Irrigators get water from a river they never look at.

  • @sydneybb So because you and oil producing contries "consume" that excuses the destruction of the planet along with australia under 20 feet of water. If you saying the 7 billion overpopulated humans including australians are that stupid, vicious, and greedy then all humanity including Australia absolutely deserve to die out, and as fast as possible

  • @JapaneseAreRacists the world isn't going to acccept Japan's poaching of whales by you pointing fingers at Australia. Yeah Australia does have its faults, but Japan has some of the most environmentally destructive corporations on earth like Mitsubishi that also work to clearcut Tasmanian and other rainforests around the world. Besides that Japan is the top villain raping the oceans for pure corporate greed. Take your propaganda elsewhere, many other countries are speaking out against Japan.

  • @AustralianAreRacists WOW, thanks 4 that, i had no idea this happened in Australia, god has an sense of humour all this clear-cutting and drought was brought on by themseleves, how ironic. Of course i am no preacher, nor an ideal christian, but my heart is in the right place.

Show them black SUNDAY in Australia, the wraith of Uriel, how unexplained winds in excess of 110mph caused so much death. Look at the obvious clues, Uriel holds an sword of FIRE & governs the 4 winds.

  • @AustralianAreRacists i'll give u a heads-up, it'll be the "plague of DARKNESS", that's right exactly like u've read in the bible. millions of tons of oil into the gulf of mexico, all that shit has 2 go somewhere! try telling the clouds & winds 2 keep that shit in USA & respect borders. When the clouds rain dark oil, will u be able 2 see anything if the rain is BLACK!

  • it's so funny 2 hear the last part of it! yeah when ur lake dries up 2 nothing & u can't farm, its a wake up call! time 2 get outta austalia

  • @AustralianAreRacists yep, they refused the koyoto accord. now they suffer the drought, plague of frogs(cain toad), soon plague of flies when the dead frogs lay rotting & festering in the heat. i am just gonna wait and see when u guys get swarms of locusts! that's some biblical stuff, but meh why should i care not like i live there!

  • @AustralianAreRacists

ha ha yeah like that means anything. to correct Australia have actually signed the

Kyoto protocol in 2007. once again the protocol has yet to cause any significant change anyway every country signed has done little. its about as successful as the Copenhagen summit. got anything else champ, that's a factually correct? haha

  • @AustralianAreRacists thats just radical propaganda you gullible faggot. best find realistic and reputable sources of info before making any sort of judgment, ya red neck freak show. is your head ok?

  • @AustralianAreRacists distorted facts dipshit, that 70% figure is largely fabricated in your small brain. Australia no 1 greenhouse contributors, are you retarded? australia only produces 1% of total world emissions.

  • stop arguing! you're both imbeciles!

  • @wirelessrgt stay out of it idiot

  • living on the sharp end of global warming??? hahahah trust the BBC to spread propaganda such as that. global warming is a scam.

  • An Australian girl said "it often rains. drought is over".

  • im irish il clarify from the start, but i've a cousin wrkin on a farm out in aus on a farm that hadn't seen rain for 2 years, wen it came he said every machine with in 100 miles that cud harrow/sow was going flat out even in de rain.ikind a tink this is kinda ironic cause for de past 3 summers, our "growing season" has seen record falls of rain meaning poor crops etc also!!!,hmmm wish we could trade weather for just 1 yr!!!

  • Im sure no one has ever heard of global cooling before

  • MRMIL057 - you sure you're not working for the government or something there mate?

That is a load of bullshit when you say that "Australia is not in drought".

My father has lived for over 30 years in Australia. When he arrived in the 1970's he was fishing in the lakes and rivers of the east coast, which are now all just beds of rocks and dust - just that alone has to have some sort of meaning...or proof of Australias dramatic climate change.

  • Australia is not in drought, 2009 eastern states and south western Australian the drought has broken and we have just gone through one of the coldest winter in decades. One of the best snow seasons ever!

Just would like to point out, these videos are made buy people that want to push the man made climate change theory for there own personal financial gain!

  • I dont exactly know what world you live in but if you had any idea about what you are talking about you would know that most areas of Australia are still severly drought affected.

  • jim4310 .....a typical greenwashed gen-y, and a typical response.

  • no just a typical farmer who actually knows whats going on out here in the real world

  • jim4310 ...Victoria has had it's best growing year for wheat in 10 yrs, and in the next 12 months, it's looking better.

For most of Victoria the drought has broken.

  • I have no idea what planet you're from, mate, but you're not living in Victoria, at least not in the Victoria I know and have lived in for nearly 40 years. And yes, I live in rural Victoria, and what you're saying is absolute bollocks. Our town is seeing increasing poverty due purely to this drought, as farmers are losing income and livelyhood simply because of environmental factors preventing them to harvest crops, destroy starving livestock, etc. In fact, hottest decade on record.

  • nupthatisit ......all this man made climate change hype has nothing to do with the dry spell in some parts of Australia, Last year in some localities in Victoria, they had above average rain fall, yet other areas had hardly any.

Sorry but thats incorrect, it was not the 'warmest' decade on record. It was the oposite, my parents told me 2 decades ago, back in the 1930s/40s summers were much warmer.

    Don't go jumping to conclusions!

  • Conclusion is not what I'm jumping to, my poor deluded friend. I'm basing my claim on research published by the Bureau of Meteorology as well as the CSIRO. Best you can do is use anecdotal evidence from your parents? Nice try, buddy.

  • nupthatisit......there are the Sciences (physics, mathamatics) based on what we know by evidence, and then there are the natural sciences which use physics and mathematics to understand the world around us- and we understand very very little. Its reckless to model the future the little that we know as it is impossible to know how accurate it is. Any scientists who make claims with any certainty are delusional.

  • The Bureau of Meteorology is run by people committed to proving AGW is real, these people are therefore liars.

History is littered with fraudulent claims and you are one of many fools for believing in the 'hype'.

  • "The average temperature in Australia over the past 10 years was 0.48 degrees Celsius above the 1961-1990 average, the Bureau of Meteorology said in its annual climate statement.

And 2010 is forecast to be even hotter, with temperatures likely to be between 0.5 and 1 degrees above average." Sydney Morning Herald, 5/1/10

  • "Australia experienced its hottest decade on record from 2000 to 2009 due to global warming, the nation's bureau of meteorology said today." SMH, 5/1/10

  • "EXTREME bushfires and dust-storms with rainfall that was too much in some parts of the country and not enough in others characterised 2009 - Australia's second-warmest year on record.

"And...authorities reached for the record books to confirm the 10 years to 2009 as Australia's warmest decade on record.

"The annual climate statement, released by the Bureau of Meteorology, is consistent with global warming trends and shows records also fell in Victoria, with new maximum temperatures recorded."

  • The Age, 6/1/10

  • nupthatisit....

Your persuation is a tactic so common with eco-activism.

As for the Australian media ,The Age, SMH ...ABC TV etc.

It is very clear the media are full of eco-activists, so everytime you quote from the papers/tv your are speading a lie.

Do your own research, plenty of scientists who don't agree with you.

  • You so amuse me :) I've cited references of quotes from BOM and CSIRO and yet your research extends to anecdotes from your parents!

These same quotes also appear on the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO sites. Don't forget CSIRO are a highly respected scientific research organisations.

Now, I'd much prefer to take the word of experts than the viewpoint of some crackpot right wing capitalist like yourself

  • nupthatisit... well I am delighted to hear that I amuse you.

The environmental-activists have infiltrated the tax payer funded BoM and CSIRO by stealth!...

These 'activists' (green nazis) got degress, got authority and now exclude anyone who doesn't agree with them from positions of power. Its ALL about power and control - not the environment. They want power and don't care who they trample to get it.

This is the reason why I am speaking out towards people like you!

  • And who is people like me? I'm merely someone living in the country watching my town becoming poorer and poorer from this drough which you say is over.

And who are you? Some right wing capitalist who refuses to believe in human intervention into global warming because it could affect your shares in the stock market

  • nupthatisit .....

I do understand very clear about some parts of Australia being in drought, I've even meet people that have walked away from farms because of drought, I'm aware of people committing suicide because of the drought.

So take it easy and debate subjects without malice.

  • Have I sworn at you? Have I called you names? Please, tell me what malice I have used.

  • nupthatisit.....oh silly me, you didn't swear at me, someone else did, l've been getting stuck into other people in other threads.

Every so often, they use rude and very bad words.

    Disgusting I say.

I would like to say I am not upset with you in any way, what we spoke of are very serious issues. It does not matter who is right and who is wrong, it comes back to one simple human trait, telling the truth matters.

  • That's cool :)

  • @nupthatisit Now you were telling me that you enjoy the company of many multicultural friends. Which country town are you living in? I have lived in country towns all my life and while they have some cultural diversity they certainly don't boast a huge cross section of cultures. I am starting to believe you change your situation to suit your argument.

  • I've lived in Melbourne since birth to July last year and the last 6 months have lived in Cobram on the Murray River.

  • and Cobram does have a large group of Iraqi refugees who settled here to gain work in the fruit-picking industries. Hence our school having a 10% Arab population

  • So you have hooked up with a ethnic minority in a small community and are now an expert on multiculturalism and ethnic affairs. My Hero

  • no, I have worked for several years in the arts and education sector in both Melbourne and Cobram working with a number of various cultures. The northern suburbs of Melbourne, where I spent several years, is home to people from several cultural backgrounds. Prior to working at Cobram, I worked at Northland Secondary College which has a student population of 25% Indigenous students. It is also the only school which succeeded in defeating Kennett who tried to close it in the early 1990s

  • and when did I profess to be an expert? You making assumptions yet again?? Such as the assumption I'm making up my experiences?

  • @nupthatisit No you have confirmed everything

  • Some quotes from a research paper entitled Some Impacts of Climate Change by Peter C Manins, CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research:

"In the past 200 years, concentrations of greenhouse gasses have continued to increase and the earth has warmed....in the past 100 years average surface temperatures have risen by 0.6% - in Australia that rise has been bigger at 0.8%, mostly occurring since 1950....upper 300 m of ocean is warming.....global sea levels have risen by 100-200 mm since 1990...."

  • "...extreme of temperatures is increasing - the hottest days are hotter, the coldest days are colder....it's likely that the 0.8% increase in Australia is due to human activity.....(on Victoria's drought) The persistent drought of the 2000s has been drier than previous droughts, it has been more intense with more intense fires, reduced river flows and degraded river quality"

This report is direct from CSIRO website, not from media.

Where are you going to get your quotes from? Andrew Bolt?

  • nupthatisit

The drought in Australia has nothing to with this AGW hype, you claim your area is drought, but its impossible to state it is caused by modern climate. Any attempt to do so is fraudulent.

To get more accurate weather patterns concerning the Australian climate, we need millenia of monitoring post industrialisation.

  • Ah, but according to you there is no drought in Victoria! Are you admitting now that there is one?

  • nupthatisit .....Excuse you!

I did not say there was no drought in Victoria.

You insist on drought and AGW are the same, you sir, are an idiot and a dam fool.

  • @nupthatisit so you spew rhetoric on environmental issues to? So tell me then, if you believe in global warming and that Australia is facing prolonged drought due to climate change, why do you support increased immigration and opening the floodgates to the masses.

  • Oh, and I'm not an eco-activist, as you put it. I'm not an activist of any kind. I'm observing what's going on in my own town, where the river that supplies our town and farms is only a thrid full and we have an increase in levels of poverty due to this drought which you claim we're not experiencing.

  • @nupthatisit I also remember you saying you pay no attention to mainstream media

  • I never said I don't pay attention to the media. What I do, however, is gather my information from a wide range of sources, as a Media teacher it would be incredibly stupid of me not to read all forms of media. But I also gather research from a wide range of sources. I do criticise those who ONLY read the Murdoch papers, as they are not a reliable source

  • 6 years without rain that's crazy. here in minneota where on 5 consecutive days with rain.

  • I really feel sorry for all the farmers in Australia who are suffering under the drought.

We here in Holland can pump up rainwater to water our crops in dry years, this was a very dry year for us in the south, but no rain mean a lot of diesel cost.

But in Australia you depent on rain,i hope that situations like in Australia never ever happen here in Holland.

I saw the impact of the drought with my own eyes 2 years back, and it was terrible.

    All the best.

  • problem wit auss is its so huge in de centre, hollands right by the sea which ='s rain!!!,hey taught ur main problem does b floodin??? with de reclaimed land an al that??

  • Yeah mate rain is,nt a real problem here ,during summer of 09 we had almost no rain, and now during autumm is hell on earth, the weather is unpredictable but this year is very strange, but we dont have those huge problems with rain like in Aus.

(I bought a ticket today to aus, just to see with my own eyes what going on in Aus,just to see how those poor people handle the drought)

  • It's coastal areas suffering as well, such as Victoria and New South Wales. It's not just inland Australia suffering the droughts, it's in fact quite widespread.

  • We also have two very good examples in history as to why there should be minimal farming in this region. I am referencing the dust bowl phenomenon in the USA and the draining of the Aral sea. Two examples of stupidity in the modern age in which the mistakes were the same as Australia. My best suggestion is to bail out the farmers and declare the drought lands nature reserves.

  • the land is not suitable for intensive farming, i don't feel sorry for these people

  • bastard

  • Your an idiot mate-that is all i have to say

  • feel sorry for that family ....

  • oh this is awful. in sydney we have had much rain, too much, Tassie is getting decent rain but it appears the farming areas that need it most are not...Queensland has been flooded recently...it's very bizarre.

  • Houston is having this problem right now

  • so do they get any rain at all? coz the lady saids she see blue sky all the time, to the point she is tired of it....

  • they have not had a rain for several years

  • Bern, this is what I meant.. read my previous comment.. chat later, Helena

  • Climate scientists say Australia -- beset by prolonged drought and deadly bush fires in the south, monsoon flooding and mosquito-borne fevers in the north, widespread wildlife decline, economic collapse in agriculture and killer heat waves -- epitomizes the "accelerated climate crisis" that global warming models have forecast....

    source: stopglobalwarming(dot)org

  • right, gas guzzling jet skis and land cleared completely to grow with industrial agricultural techniques a crop which requires massive amounts of water and pesticides. what a surprise the system is failing. permaculture is the answer

  • global warming my ass!!!

  • Last time i was over there was 02. I can remember the old timers talking about when the rains would come. Seems its been declining for a decade or more according to some. Where it would rain non stop for weeks even months is more then proof of a significant change in the weather paterns one old timer said. The other one said its those fukin Yanks with there HAARP. I chuckled at the responses and thought perhaps in age there is wisdom.

  • thanx for the memories HAARP

  • Ratonnewmex is correct. There is so much documentation on weather modification, including government and military documents. I suggest everyone turn off their propaganda TV and DO SOME RESEARCH.

  • "There is so much documentation on weather modification, including government and military documents. I suggest everyone turn off their propaganda TV and DO SOME RESEARCH."

I suggest everyone turns away from alex jones and watch penn & teller bullshit shows. yeah and the queen of england is a reptilian.

its all bullshit and its bad for ya.

  • I got to agree with Einstein when he said "condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance". You just exemplified that when you tried to associate my statement that there are military docs on weather modification with Alex Jones. There is not even a relation. From that, I would guess you did poorly on IQ tests where the questions were this is to that as that is to blank. It's easier to make ignorant comments as you did, then to research. Again, back to Einstein...

  • IQ tests are bullshit too. if it happens that you know the meaning of the word "inept" or if you can find the pattern in pictures, then you already have more points. is this the test you judge people by?

as alex jones I mean those kind of people like you that believe conspiracy the(rr)orists. look at your channel "chemtrails, mind control, food control, NWO". I've spoken with airline pilots and they all laugh when you mention chemtrails. the only thing we all see are CONTRAILS.

  • I did research on everything. from skulls & bones, to apollo moon landing. look, you are subscribed to NufffRespect. when looking at twin towers on fire, people falling down, tell us what kind of asssssshole does it take to say "hm, it must be an inside job"?

there were no controlled demolitions in any building. everyone would hear hundreds of bombs going off in few seconds. thats a true demolition. they collapsed cause office material like computers can burn at very high temperatures.

  • "Disney and Universal Studios change their logo after decades by adding chemtrails"

why is youtube logo red? they must be commies, huh? why does sweden and finland look like male genitals on a euro coin?

its all bullshit and its bad for ya. you have to watch penn & teller bullshit more often. they did an amazing show about kennedy's assassination. and mythbusters proved that they landed on the moon.

now be careful, black helicopter is over your house. *thump thump thump thump thump*

  • btw if you ever see something strange behind ships like foam and waves, its called a wake. I've been on many research vessels. and 200 miles from the coast they are allowed to empty waste water tanks, so dont be surprised if you see toilet paper. its not a chemwake.

  • we should pray to God for rain just like in the ancient times, they rely on God

  • STOP CHEMTRAILS now

  • thats sad

  • has NOTHING TO DO WITH global warmin...look up. look at the murderous jets with their chemcials drying up the rain clouds. how EVIL the NWO is HOW EVIL HAARP IS!

  • "jets with their chemcials drying up the rain clouds"

do you honestly believe this? matter cant be created or destroyed - which means that water in clouds has to go somewhere. either it falls onto the ground or escape out in the outerspace. which one is it? watch some penn & teller bullshit shows more often.

  • Last I remembered Water isn't an element "Jets with their chemicals drying up the rain clouds" means the break down of water molecules in the atmosphere into oxygen and hydrogen. Which are gases...that means No water.
