@gameoflordfuckerhalo Because bytes go in steps of two, and then keep on doubling. So it's 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 and finally 1024. Unfortunately, a lot of hard drive producers work in steps of 1000, which is why you usually actually get only 931GB in a hard drive that they claim to be 1TB large. It's basically scamming, but no one seems to get the facts right!
