Karl, What camera do you recommend for beginners. I have decided to buy a Professional Camera though i really don't know which camera is the best? I am more into Landscape Photography, and portrait Photography. HELP!
@Romikafire65 depends on your budget. i have just purchased a nikon d7000 - and it is bloody good! but if you can't stretch to that, go for a more base model - but invest in a good lens!!! also, photoshop is defo worth it too. can really fine tune pics - even turn bad ones into good ones!
@ 2.53 was you expecting the wet feet !! @5.35 wet socks and that climb ...rather you than me, ....Excellent shots and I would be with you at your side with my trusty 60d
There are regional accents in England, just as there are in the US. Someone from Boston doesn't sound like someone from Texas, which is different again from California, and so on.
Karl's accent I would say sounds west country (Cornwall or Devon maybe) or one of the channel islands (Jersey, Guernsey, etc.). Some English people do say 'loight'. Others say 'late' or even 'leet'. Others say 'lite'.
Hi there Karl, is it ok to tell us what kind of lens do you use on your picture taking? Im new on photography. thanks and this is a great youtube video.
How could 10 ppl not like this video?! not photographers for shore...these videos are briliant to learn more and more about light, and the best of it: THEY ARE FREE!!!
Although his enthusiasm is hilarious to watch, it is great for something like this. I am an amateur photographer and I started to loose a little interest in the hobby because I kept comparing my work to others, but when you have someone this enthusiastic about it I find that it drives me to want to just get out shooting again. Great advice, I never thought too much into light and how I can use different techniques to my advantage, thanks for this upload.
i want to thank you personally for these videos, very informative and simple to understand - im new to digital photography and im going to enjoying viewing all this material ..thanks Karl, it will benefit me
Coming from a film and 3d background I think in terms of stage lighting such as spot, directional, ambient, global, omni and coloured lighting. I love the swinging lightbulb effect in the intro which really crystalizes the idea.
I love your photos (: I keep watching and watching your videos. Your such a good photographer :D I'm definately gunna used these light catagories for my photography. I have a crappy compact, but whatever.
@MusicsAngelica you don´t think that depends on the time of year/country/continent you are currently in? Here in Sweden the sun will set at 2:45pm in the winter but not until 10:45pm in the summer. In northern Sweden the sun will not set at all in summer. The magic hour is about one hour before the sun is starting to set.

nice vid, im experimenting with cokin filters and getting some good results. as you had some drift wood in the frame, where was your point of focus on the landscape.

hey there, i notice that you have a filter holder on your camera, my question is what kind of filter holder would i need for the tokina 12-24 or the tokina 11-16 wide angle lenses as i do not want part of the holder to be seen when shooting?
Useful tips.
