hey man how do you like the bike? im thinking about getting one, hows the bottom end power, Do you think i should go 2012 since they went with linkage or is the pds alright?
@Lizzylump I love the bike. It's incredibly light and you can manhandle it. The bottom end is decent, you can somewhat lug up hills, I climb most stuff in 2nd gear to minimize wheelspin but usually have to downshift by the time I'm at the top. Technical singletrack is where this bike shines, actually technical anything. I've noticed I'm quite a bit faster than most of the guys in my class when it's rocky or tight, or both.
@Lizzylump The linkage has it's plusses and minuses, one plus is it works over a broader range of terrain than the PDS . A minus is that PDS is basically maintenance free. Another minus is catching rocks and ledges with the link. I haven't gotten to ride a 2012 yet but I hope to bum a ride from a buddy or ride the lineup at a Dealer Ride Day. See if you can swing a leg over both and then make your mind up. I've heard a lot of people can't tell the difference and others say it's amazing.
@Lizzylump Most of the people that say it sucked have never ridden with it, or rode it poorly set up. It takes different sag numbers than linkage and progressive springs help a lot. If you're riding MX I'd get a 2012 so you can set it and forget it instead of making adjustments at every track.
I know the feeling of riding a bike like this....you own it and can throw it into any line you want all day long. I have never ridden the 150sx but recently rode a 2010 200exc. Almost made me think I made a mistake buying the 2011 300.
The 200 is not much heavier than a 150R with 40hp
The 150SX weighs in at a similar weight as CRF150R. with the power of a 250F
@JustEnduro The 200's are awesome bikes! This bike is going to be used for hare scrambles and maybe a mx race or two for fun. Basically the plan is to get to A level with this bike then move back to the 250 smoker. That is, if I ever get to A level. I'm running B right now but I'm still midpack and a championship hope just went out the window because I broke my collar bone at the MX track last weekend. Snapped her clean in two! Had to have a plate and screws put in to heal properly!
I'm 5"5 am i tall enough to ride it
