  • I know that

  • I'm sure that you know that. I'm also sure that my buddy murjax knew that as well.

  • it reverts to 4 tracks

  • I can tell, as Amtrak uses that line in addition to NJT. In NJCL, only NJT uses that line so there are only two tracks.

  • I know about the NJCL and I know you do too=)! I was just clearing up your misunderstanding of the NEC.

  • South of Rahway, since the number of tracks on NJCL gets reduced from 6 to 2, does NEC stay as 6 tracks or does it go down to 4 or what?

  • all 6 tracks run from Linden to Rahway and All 6 are used by all trains.

  • I can tell. I was traveling south on New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line and south of Rahway, there were only two tracks. I don't know about Northeast Corridor, though.

  • I believe this is Newark yard.

  • Actually, there are this many tracks between Newark and Rahway, it doesn't look like a yard. I was on the North Jersey Coast Line, and south of Rahway, the line got separated from Northeast Corridor and was reduced to two tracks. But I don't know about Northeast Corridor south of Rahway down to Trenton

  • I actually counted six, plus one nearly-dead track used by a freight train. I think that four outer tracks are used by NJTransit while the middle two are used by Amtrak. I don't know for sure, but I'm just assuming
