umm.. how is that part about nuclear reactors accurate?

I thought conventional technology was handicapped due to the high radiation playing hoc on the electronics of the equipment.

@DemiGuy Most likely there would only be hardened electrical coponents inside with all the electronics outside. It looks like the thing is controlled by the use of many wires with their controls at the base, and thus outside of a reactor. Anyway, reactors don't deserve the bad press they get. It is the humans that don't maintain them or build them in dangerous places who are the fault. Anyway - the future is fusion powerplants, small semi-trailer sized micro reactors and solar.
