  • thats a nice idea

  • hi

  • I live in australia and would you recommend going to a electronics shop that has cameras etc to get the lense and step up ring?

  • @JKninjaa sure; i shouldnt think theyd be too hard to find. or you can always find them online.

    good luck!

  • Magnet works WAAAY better

  • Now thats a good Hack!!! Thumbs up! Def. will use it!!!

  • I used the 0.45x Kenko KMW-045S from amazon.com

  • ive seen that kit on best buy does it come with the lenses or is it just the adapters?? its like 40 bucks right????

  • @gamiel100 it includes one lens and several different-sized conversion rings/adaptors. yeah, about 40 bucks.

  • Where you get that lens?

  • @Iphone2001 got lens @ best buy. about $40. im using modeling clay (the kind that never dries out) now to just stick the lens on. might post another vid for that. it's easier and quicker.

  • @volitariac can you quickly describe how you're attaching the lens with modeling clay? thanks!

  • @skl17 1) screw one of the conversion rings onto the lens

    2) roll out a length of modeling clay (the stuff that doesnt dry out or get hard)

    3) wrap that around the back of the ring

    4) press it onto the flip

easy. the roll of clay has to be thick enough so that the lens doesnt bottom out before it's stuck well to the flip. thats about it.

the main drawback is that it doesnt hold super well. great for stationary tri/monopod or handheld walking around stuff but not for heavy-duty jarring stuff

  • @Iphone2001 got the lens at best buy.

  • Smart! I will probably try

  • there is a vid that the dude krazy glues it togerter and it becomes part of the camera... its sick! =D

  • what case did you use for the flip mino velcro thing at the end?

  • is there any way to tape it on?

  • i think double-sided foam tape could work.

try cutting out a piece (or two if you need to go around the mics like i did) just like i show with the velcro on the ring. then you'd just stick that directly to the flip. might have to experiment a bit w tape thickness and glue strength but seems plausible to me.

only drawback i see is that the ring would be pseudo-permanently attached to the flip (unless you want to redo the tape every time you use the lens.)

let me know how it goes.

    good luck.

  • thanks im doing this as soon as i get a lens

  • Nice job...good alternative to permanently glueing the step up ring to the camera...great idea..thanks for sharing
