  • Thank you for posting this old gospel song.,, I know it by heart as well ... Id really like to see another video of your husband (I assume) singing it with you backing him up.. The way it was meant to be sung... No offense at all and I mean that but I wish he'd pull his britches up a notch and take lead.... I don't care if his voice crackles one bit and if he cant hold a tune but i would care and love to hear this song sang by him

  • @Joebanker80 Thank for your message and request. It takes us a while to work up an arrangement for a song - finding the right key for our voices, learning the words and maybe finding a little instrumental break to put in. It may take a while but we'll keep your request in mind.

  • Are you playing the banjo Scruggs style here, or is that an old-timey fingerpicking style?

  • @SirCoughsalot I would say it's a Scruggs foward roll pattern where I'm thinking old time.

  • @annieandmac Thank you.

  • What a voice....so much feeling....Great!!!! Wahnsinn !!!!!

  • this is one of my favourite songs, and you do it very well.i have the j.e.mainer's mountaineers rendition on cd,it always seems to have a very uplifting effect when listen to it for some reason,it almost gives me goose bumps.

  • @mrpaisleyshirt Thanks for your comments and message. The Mainer version is great. The West Virginia banjo player Dwight Diller has a fine version too. All the best.

  • Thanks hfpitman!! We appreciate those views of times past.

  • I can NOT hear all the vocals over that stupid banjo. He need a mute for it (or a shovel).

  • I don't have a mute but I do have a shovel. Just can't figure out how to attach it.

  • no need to attach it...just put it between you and the banjo... or easy to put a rope between two or three hooks...

  • Annie, you are cute as can be and I just HAD to say it!

  • Fabulous. Really good. Annie sings so well, and with a very nice voice, too. Both of you are playing beautifully. This is the kind of performance that when you start listening to it you wish it would never end.

  • Thank you for the comments!! There's a saying that I have on a wall in my house that has always been helpful - "The more I practice, the luckier I get"

    All the best!

  • I particularly like the way you play the banjo part - how do you do that picking out the tune and the accompniament at the same time? practice I guess - its called being a musician Ha Ha!you two are great as ever.
