terry47family I wouldn't say it is a lost art from. It has certainly changed, but it is a living tradition. It is real, since the style is passed down from generation to the next. Chicago is still full of great blues musicians.
And Pintop Perkins on keys, Phil Guy on other guitar, Mr. Buddy's brother who I hear passed away good Chicago sound. Sad we can longer hear and see this type of classical American musical form. A lost art form.
I think that's Philip Guy on the 1st guitar solo - the second is Buddy's, but the cameraman is still on Phil, just in case anyone's confused. He realises it on the last bar. (This happens a lot in impromptu concert filming, nobody's fault really.) I love the harp solo on the original recording (Chicago: The Blues Today vol.1) - I don't think Jr ever matched it on stage - tempo probs maybe? His style could be tantalizingly minimal sometimes, and this is a good example.
jimmy johnson, great!!!

There are many blues players across the nation. They are not well known.

Johnson still plays as good as he ever did, often with Dave Specter

What a lineup! Junior Wells, Jimmy Johnson, Buddy Guy, Dave Myers, & Odie Payne.

Wells even says 'Jimmy!' before Johnson goes off on the first solo.

Odie Payne's timing was superb. I'd kill for Junior's jacket.

@mfrank91
Payne is the real star of this - not that the others are doing all that bad. He's just amazing.

The first solo is Jimmie Johnson, not Philip Guy.

Is that harp in the key of C? I'm a novice player and can't get that first bend on a 'blow'. Any tips welcome...
