  • "Entitlements for the rich" Sure, let's cut those, but how big is that really? The top 1% probably gets the same entitlements as the 80th percent. Not a big deal. Republicans like to talk about it to move the emphasis away from revenue increase so it looks like they are doing. Take 30,000 away in entitlements and save millions in taxes. What a deal!

  • krugman looks almost identical to bernanke

  • March 1, 2010 Nat'l Debt = 10 Trillion

    Dec. 1, 2011 Nat'l Debt = 15 Trillion

I say lets raise that damn debt ceiling to a zillion.

  • this is great, but i would have liked to see a three-way camera so we could see the facial reactions

anyway, interesting to see krugman and brooks debating

  • @crocofantul11 He is absolutely right about that. If US had not raised the dept ceiling US credit rating would not be any A.

  • @crocofantul11 If the debt ceiling hadn't been raised than the US would have technically defaulted, which means there is no way you can have any good standing with the credit agencies. You think a top level economist would make such a basic mistake???

  • @crocofantul11 What the fuck is your background in economics

  • @crocofantul11

Paul hit the nail on the head. Too bad your head ain't right to understand what any of this implies.

  • .

We need to get rid of some of these tea-partiers

    .

  • @Someideasandstuff Y, they R the ones who will get the credit for forcg America to take a hard look at our debt; they may have saved us!Krugman:Typical pencil pusher, hence,Y he made stupid comments about financial trade taxes he wants to impose on U.S.. He claims

  • Wow. Civilized debate. Who knew? Kudos to these men.

  • @fujisawassake fuck you, Nazi sympathizer!

  • @fujisawassake

Krugman and Brooks for each party in 2012... it would be a world premier in America: two presidential candidates who actually answer issues analytically and not ideologically. And it would make debates interesting at least!

  • @KrugmanTheKing

but I enjoy the fate of the world's strongest country being left to how people feel emotionally which changes as easily as the seasons.

  • Time to pull together even with Americans whose views disagree with your own and get serious.

  • Sure, Obama is an accommodating President.

The problem is that he's accommodating the crooks on wall street and the international Banksters who are finalizing their position for the receivership takeover of America. They've already taken the rest of the world.

  • @libertyfelix

Well, you're almost there. It's the GOP who cater to the Street. The Dems kowtow to the banks. Two separate entities believe it or not.

  • Take the GD credit cards away from the GD wild, outta control teenagers~!

    ... I mean government.

  • Oh yeah Mr Krugman, because voters are rational and democracy is the answer. This is economics. Just cut back the govt spending! Simple.

  • @AussieAustrianBlog What? I dont even understand what that first sentence meant.

  • Fantastic! - can we please talk about this? If we don't we all loose.

  • @knocklap "lose," not "loose"
