Amy was very sick. She had borderline personality disorder and everybody just loved seeing her drunk and falling on stage and thought: "what a piece of work" "she loves too much". But she was dying in front of them and nobody noticed because her illness produced good songs. Now, she finally found peace.

I feel sorry for her family. The loved ones of an addict watch helplessly while the addict destroys themselves. You can't lock her up forever against her will. This is truly one of the most beautiful compositions and recordings ever. This is a great singer, like Ella, Nana Caymmi and Billy Holliday. A truly great talent and one of the best British songwriters since Andy Partridge from XTC and Neil Hannon of Divine Comedy and that is really a compliment.
I Never really followed Amy's career. Watched few sets at festivals. Routine on stage was brilliant. Not big sports fan, I do like Actor's, but being a Songwriter/guitarist myself I find true talent in Amy! she had a rare gift, true gift from god. Amy's Singing! I cry every time that I hear this track as it brings back some happy and some not so happy memories. I cry now for a different reason; they broke the mold when they made Amy. She had a unique talent for putting her emotions across in her songs. Her voice was unrivalled and was only marred by her love of blake which destroyed her in the end. That leaves a void that can't be filled, only numbed (the rest is history). She poured her pain into her music in the way the rest of us talk to a good friend about our problems, yet she was crying to millions. We enjoyed the beauty and honesty of her music, but buying records and tickets didn't fill the void. She tired of repeating the message. RIP Amy :(
Some people make it and some dont, thats life and its real sad.I can feel her pain and I know what its like to chase the dragon. I was a lucky one who was able to to overcome those demons, so I can relate to her. I am also a hopeless romantic.. You can be in the room with many friends, but feel as you are alone when you have a broken heart.
Her dad Mitch was absolutely right when he said Amy was all about love. It's all she wanted, and all she wrote about. I sincerely believe that, and although she was occasionally unpleasant when she was under the influence (we've all known people like that), i believe she was a genuinely sweet, intelligent and funny girl with a good heart. I'm absolutely heartbroken by her loss to be honest, and i haven't cried so much since my best friend passed away. We 'knew her' through her music

the general public doesn't have any taste. this song never hit number one on the charts is just proof. even prince and george michael agreed on this song's beauty. only the Ivor Novello Awards seemed to recognize it in 2008 declaring it the best song "Musically and Lyrically", even among her other recordings. few seem to agree though. what's up with that? it goes back to my opening statement: the general public doesn't have any taste.

Rest in peace Amy. There is no doubt that Amy Winhouse was a singer who possessed a unique, soulful voice in music and it is a tragedy that she died so young, but her voice will long live on in in the songs she sang and especially in this personal favorite. All I have to say about this fab vocal performance is: "Amy, girrrrrrrrlllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!"

There is nothing else remotely like her in music,songs & voice that belong to the 21st Century so far......yes,there are other wonderful female singers of this generation,too but Amy truly was "special" in the very essence of the word.
Let's just hope that what has happened so tragically is enough to keep the youth coming up on a wiser path.
If the scourge that is drug-addiction can take Amy & other "greats" before her before they reach 30 then it simply HAS to send a great BIG message. K xxx

Those eyes. Her writing bore deep into our collective soul, our weaknesses and our vulnerabilities. She reflected our fears and our regrets, she scared us because she could have been any part of each of us. She was sublime, flawed, needy, lovely.

This is truly one of the most beautiful compositions and recordings ever. This is a great singer, like Ella, Nana Caymmi and Billy Holliday. A truly great talent and one of the best British songwriters since Andy Partridge from XTC and Neil Hannon of Divine Comedy and that is really a compliment.

I Never really followed Amy's career. Watched few sets at festivals. Routine on stage was brilliant. Not big sports fan, I do like Actor's, but being a Songwriter/guitarist myself I find true talent in Amy! she had a rare gift, true gift from god. Amy's Singing! What a beautiful sultry powerful voice , I cannot help feeling so sad because she was loved so much. Such a tragedy for her family, friends, & fans.. Another of the all time greats taken far too soon, your in God's hevenly choir now Amy

It is just sad…. she is a very talented artist. But she had problems with drugs and alcohol for so long. In fact, some singers and drugs are like best friends. I think I can understand that, I had been to a singing audition before. When I was called to be auditioned, I couldn’t do it because of my stage freight. Painful to watch, yet deeply beautiful. She was beyond gorgeous in these photos in the early years-you can see the light in her eyes. Sadly enough the demons dimmed that light, but she is free now from all that can harm her or cause her pain. I will love her voice forever, it is melodic, deep, rich w/emotion. I will miss it

Whilst I accept the sadness of her death at such a young age and her fame I honestly cannot see any talent in her whatsoever. Her voice is not very good and she has no singing range.

I cry every time that I hear this track as it brings back some happy and some not so happy memories. I cry now for a different reason; they broke the mold when they made Amy. She had a unique talent for putting her emotions across in her songs. Her voice was unrivalled and was only marred by her love of blake which destroyed her in the end. Addiction is medical problem - some people are genetically prone more than others Unfortunately Amy was one of those poor souls....RIP x x

Im not just saying this because she is famous, there was something deeply profound about this lady.She was carrying something deep inside of her, tormenting her soul.. Getting high would tame that dragon....The dragon won. I can hear that in her voice...she was given a gift and curse at the same time. Dont judge her, you may have a event in your life that will rock your world and only you, will know how to deal with it...RIP Little girl, at least you will be remembered for ages to come.

Very true BIGVATO62. She was a hopeless romantic, and i don't think anyone could have lived up to her expectations romantically. That leaves a void that can't be filled, only numbed (the rest is history). She poured her pain into her music in the way the rest of us talk to a good friend about our problems, yet she was crying to millions. We enjoyed the beauty and honesty of her music, but buying records and tickets didn't fill the void. She tired of repeating the message. RIP Amy :(

Some people make it and some dont, thats life and its real sad.I can feel her pain and I know what its like to chase the dragon. I was a lucky one who was able to to overcome those demons, so I can relate to her. I am also a hopeless romantic.. You can be in the room with many friends, but feel as you are alone when you have a broken heart.

Her dad Mitch was absolutely right when he said Amy was all about love. It's all she wanted, and all she wrote about. I sincerely believe that, and although she was occasionally unpleasant when she was under the influence (we've all known people like that), i believe she was a genuinely sweet, intelligent and funny girl with a good heart. I'm absolutely heartbroken by her loss to be honest, and i haven't cried so much since my best friend passed away. We 'knew her' through her music
