Well i think hes referring to the OIL MONOPOLY as opposed to the PRODUCT OIL. there are air cars in france,hydro cars in japan, propane cars in brazil, battery powered strip cars, (one holds a top speed record) in 1930 ford made a car entirely of hemp,even ran on hemp gas,& was biodegradable. stronger than metal. So these are just a few cars that will never be here in america, simply because the oil people dont want to give up their cash cow. & they are the ones pushing for cap&trade, on you.

unfortunately our main source of electricity continues to be hydrocarbons anyway, things such as gas, coal or oil powerplants and since batterys aren't an efficient energy transfer system i think you will find that you are actually causing more pollutants and more fossil fuels to be used.... of course using alternate eletrical generation such as solar wind or hydro solves this problem unfortunately each have there own significant disadvantages, solar,hydro = way expensive, wind waste of land
