  • La grande dame est vraiment très spéciale. Une voix dotée d'un timbre incomparable. Je t'aime Dinah!

  • Superboycie, je suis entièrement d'accord. sa voix est divine

[merci Google Translate pour la langue d'aider :-) ]

  • One of the greatest songs ever and the best by Dinah! So heartbreaking, but joyful too . . .

  • Yeah, she's just wonderful. When my sibs & i were kids, our parents listened to her and many of the other greats---nancy wilson, ella, billy eckstine, joe wms, and many more. One of the best things about our childhood.

  • Sophistication with a sultry voice.. love it

  • what a voice

  • like crystal, truly unique

  • i love this song and she was so classy and cool! x

  • absolutely...the other day i was listening to her "what a difference a day makes". it sounds great every time i hear it. :-)

  • great

  • great, I just love to hear it

  • *****

  • Dinah can do no wrong vocally! Bravo! TY

  • you said it paulo. :-) dianah's phrasing, and the uniqueness of her voice have always appealed to me.

  • sookietex-You have fine taste! Have a great Easter!

  • thank you paulo, and a happy easter to you too.

  • Just in case you are not familiar with them-Connee Boswell and Lee Wiley are IMHO the all time best white female jazz and/or pop singers. No offense to Anita O'day and Peggy Lee. They too are great, but better known to todays audiences.Hear their songs.

  • i am not familiar with ms' boswell or wiley, but if they're even better than ms' day and lee, i will definitely have to check them out. thanks for the info.

...i just realized i misspelled dinah's name in my initial reply---d'oh!

  • There are some Connee Boswell's on you tube, and as of late, a glut of Lee Wiley's recordings. Many of the Lee Wiley recordings are rare, and even I as a devotee had not only not heard them, but did not know that they even existed. Hope that June Christy also forgives me.

  • thanks paulo, i checked out both ladies, love the boswell sisters' harmonies---and what do you know, upon hearing ms boswell i was reminded that i was familiar her artistry, her rendition of "i'll never have to dream again" on the pennies from heaven soundtrack :-). also i especially liked ms wiley's "sunny side of the street". thanks again for the info.

  • She certainly was unique! Happy Easter sookietex
