Can you explain the "ringing the bell" technique? Were you still using the pimple, or did you switch to a spinner?

I am not sure om Mn waters. It would be interesting to see what they say. I will try and get the report from ODNR biologist. He is also a ice fishing guide on Erie.

For the guy's commenting on not releasing large fish, if you check with biologist's, they will tell you that walleye of those size and weight no longer help reproduction because there eggs are no longer fertile. Taking them does not hurt the Lake Erie population.

So u guys dont believe in releasing the big ones? The lake i fish is manditory to release between 21.7-34 inchers. Probably why the world record through the ice was caught on it:D My largest to date is a 32 inch 13 pounder. Thats a big walleye!

Should use a gaff, be a lot easier on ya. Clear water like that, gotta match the hatch,. Nickel Ice Swedish Pimples work great also.
