  • Be careful buying alienware. I own an m9750 bought it with 4GB ram only to discover in the forums that the bios has a limitation of 2.5GB. Its been a year the computer is no longer available for sale on their website to a bios fix for this huge limitation seems gloomy.

  • Hi Vader, This particular laptop went back to Alienware, we only test them out for the most, 30 days and then return them so somebody else can take a look at it. Slick on our show has one though and loves it, Not sure what you mean about the camera but the outer skin still looks great and it hasn't been bogged down through use, then again, slick really takes care of his notebooks.

  • After a yr hows the condition of this laptop

I want to know about the web cam, still moves or got loose(hope u understand what i mean, cos it is moveable)

  • Andy, is that you in the video? That's sweet i'm talking to a tv person

    I have this laptop woot

  • Hi Travis, yes, dat be me and Jenny..This is also the same laptop that Slick just got, trying to convince him to exchange it to me for a TV!

  • is this laptop good cause i read alot of comments saying that it sucks....

if this is bad as u pple say then reply to this or send me a msg of which laptops are good for some games... (runs smoothly, music, good memory, RAM!!! and video card)

    thx!~!~~~

  • Honestly, this is a great laptop for gaming...the only drawback we could see is price and battery life, however, for gaming this will always be an issue. For Multiplayer I would also recommend you always use a wired net solution. If Alienware isn't for you, take a look at the Toshiba Satellite 205. We have some pics on our website of this from CES. Dell (which owns Alienware) also has some nice laptops for gaming and multimedia production.

  • wtf dell owns alien ware??

  • Yes, and HP owns the Voodoo Gaming PC Line as well! Acer owns Gateway, Packard Bell and EMachine...

  • woot!! im getting that comp for christmas and 1:12 is my favorit part :]

  • Sweet! I would assume by the 1:12, you are talking about the Dual Graphics Cards! Sweet. If you want DirectX 10, make sure you get it with the 8000 series. Is this a gift you are getting yourself or have you got somewhere very cool in life that would want to adopt a whole bunch of us on here!

  • it doesnt come with blueray!

  • You can order the M9750 with the Blu-Ray Option. The unit we looked at did not have the feature. It raises the price considerably. Since we originally looked at the M9750, Alienware has added Solid State Drive Technology in 32Gb and 64Gb capacity.

  • that may very well be , but it looks like alienware´s option of a blue-ray has gone missing:

    -24x DVD-ROM/CD-RW Burner

    -8x Dual Layer CD-RW/DVD±RW Burner[+$50 or $2/mo.] Alienware Recommends!

-8x Dual Layer CD-RW/DVD±RW Burner w/ LightScribe Technology

  • Interesting...wonder if they had problems with it? Maybe they found nobody was buying them at that price and configuration? Thanks for passing that along.

    Andy

  • Can you please tell me the link on USstream showing you firing it up and taking it out of the box

  • Go to ustream, then after you type that URL add, channel/techtalkradio - YouTube won't let me give you the full URL however I am shooting a more in depth high quality video of the 9750

  • Its supposed to be for all Notebooks, Not all of them come with a cam :) This way you have options! Thanks for checking out the vid though!

  • Uhh.. Why are they showing off a web cam for a laptop that has a cam built in... WOW lol

  • Hi there, thanks for the comment. Actually, true! Good point however we're showing the Laptop as well as the Cams from Logitech which were both launched with the Zeiss lens that week. I like your Observation though!

  • Wow, you were in the presence of an m9750 O_o -bows down- Why were you not allowed to turn it to show off the "creepy" light haha. Was there an Alienware rep standing off camera threatening to kill if you touched it? I know I wouldn't touch it if there was.. haha. Anyway, do you have access to any more vids of this beauty of a machine? I'm planning on buying one very soon and want to see more of it before committing (~$5,000 is a bit steep but very worth it :D)

  • Yes! Sweet Machine it is as well. We have a video up on UStream of us actually taking it out of the box and firing it up! We also still have the 9750 in house, (Why am I not on that right now!!)with plans this weekend to shoot a more indepth segment featuring the 9750 - Any points you want us to be sure to show?

  • i know there showing a camera for a computer that already has a camera in it.lol
