  • Dvid Backham has an eating disorder... what???

  • This video should be titled 'famous people without a mental illness' (even though they have been stigmatised)

  • Don't be so fast on pulling the curtain down or underestimating a person with a mental disorder.Truth is, they can end up being the best President we ever had or a talented smart person. We shouldn't be so quick to judge and neglecting them. Some people don't trust us,some are even afraid we say depression they think crazy, again the real part is people need to educate themselves before they speak out nonsense.

    P.S. I have a Mental Disorder

  • Jessica Alba is a neat freak? I never knew that.

  • Greatly informative and inspirational. Other famous people with mental illness could have been mentioned however, such as Karen Carpenter: Anorexia, Kristy McNichol: Bipolar Disorder, Shelley Duvall: Schizophrenia. Brad Delp, lead singer of the rock group "Boston": Major Depression leading to his suicide in 2007. A new updated addition could include: Amy Winehouse: Bipolar Disorder, Anorexia Disorder and Substance Abuse Disorders, leading to her recent death.

  • @elderberry9 Thank you! I like the idea of making another video, but I don't have time right now. I am happy to keep your comment on this page. -- nvcLisa

  • @nvclisa Didn't Halle Berry attempt suicide after David Justice left her back in the '90s? I recall seeing this on the news at that time and later saw her speak of it in an interview.

  • eistein's teacher described him as mentally slow, unsociable and drift into foolish dreams? sounds more to me like aspergers and not OCD, people with aspergers do have delay in speech, are not very sociable and gets lost in their own world...

  • To: Violinist From Lisa. Yes, Albert may have had Aspergers. Someone else wrote that too. I see value in figuring out a diagnosis... because it helps patients and families understand what's going on. I also see value in not trying to figure it out. I often see mental health professionals focusing on the diagnosis (weakness), instead of focusing on the patient's strengths, and teaching them coping skills. My # 1 goal is to inspire people, give them hope, give them strength.

  • i love albert einst..but dyslexia meens you fined it hard to reed and right and do mathematics.?enyone?

  • @TheTilemaster123999

he did it all in his head ;)

  • Merci pour cette vidéo ça m'aide à accepter ma bipolarité quand je vois que je ne suis pas la seule........ Depression is hell on earth

  • This is a good video. I have similar video on my channel. Do you have depression or schizophrenia? How can you tell?

  • @djSpinege Hendrix did not die from suicide as many believe

  • Gillian my fav actor,I hav depression as well :(

  • Thank you for making these videos. People absolutely don't understand that having a mental disorder is a setback in life, but not a stop sign. People near and dear to me have suffered from mental disorders and seeing them conquer the challenges of life ON TOP OF depression, bipolar, and alcoholism is inspiring. The same goes for these celebrities.

  • Wow knowing celebrities deal with some of the things I do it kinda makes me feel more normal? Nice video:)

  • @P3RSONGUY well duhh they are humans to

  • I finally don't feel so alone anymore.... :)

  • @loveistheanswerful You're never alone.

  • living in a world that sucks is the cause of a lot of depression

  • @nvclisa so, i am a sick of schizopherinia. i used to be athletic. but since the time i heard voices in my head, i i just concentrate with my work. and forget what the future will bring to my life. thanks

  • It made me cry. I have ADHD.

  • drugs and alcohol, trying to be normal

  • @djSpinege … The alcohol/drug/sugar makes them feel good, and then makes them crash and burn. The highs and lows makes the mental illness worse. It’s a vicious cycle. So yes, people self-medicate all the time. It’s very common. Please, be compassionate & understanding. People who self-medicate don’t need criticism and judgment. They are simply searching for a way to feel better.

  • @nvclisa Well yes, people do... but that doesn't make it a good idea. Lots of people who DO have mental illness DON'T do drugs/alcohol/etc., and lots of people who DON'T have mental illness DO. I think, therefore, that's it's a little dangerous to start treating substance addictions as if they are another mental illness - because, regardless of how miserable a mental illness makes you feel, at some point that person CHOSE to take those substances, whereas no-one CHOOSES to be mentally ill.

  • @TheStfu1000 I created these videos to be a source of education, inspiration, motivation and understanding, for patients, families, and the general public. You wrote comments that included words like "f-ing psychopath retard, and psychiatry is bullshit." I deleted your other comments. If you want to insult people, tear them down, and criticize them, please, go somewhere else. I don't need that in my life. I want to surround myself with positive and encouraging people. Go away.

  • from where do you know that einstein took ritalin ?

  • @Robeddo86 Watch the video again, and pay attention to the words. I think you will answer your own question. By the way, the info I put up on Mr. Albert - did not originate with me. It was a quote from another source.

  • are you sure megan fox is diagnosed with schizophrenia, or from what tabloids/megan fox herself is saying over her her obsession with Marilyn Monroe.

No contradiction, but someone please reply to me details on this I need an explanation.

  • @doodooadvisedamerica Yeah, I wanted to bring that up: can I respectfully suggest that you remove her from this video, please? She has never been diagnosed as having schizophrenia by ANYONE, she just said in that particular interview that she "thinks" she has "schizophrenia or borderline personality disorder or something." Which, if you've ever read or heard anything else she's said in interviews, is a COMPLETELY different thing...!

  • @Maerahn This is nvcLisa. Thank you for being respectful. At this point, it would take a great deal of effort to remove anyone's name. If it was easy to do, I would do it. Would you like to suggest another option?... I'm curious, if you don't mind me respectfully asking... if this was a video titled "Famous People with Diabetes," or arthritis, heart disease, etc., would you still feel as strongly about removing her name? Is it less acceptable, because it's a mental illness? Thank you.

  • @nvclisa Fair enough - I appreciate it must have taken a long time to put this together, so pulling it apart to make one small change is not a small task. And actually I would feel even MORE strongly about someone wrongly claiming to have something like diabetes, heart disease etc. With mental illness symptoms are harder to pin down, so people can be forgiven somewhat for genuinely believing they're mentally ill; physical illnesses have physical and much less ambiguous symptoms.

  • I feel like I can relate to these people. They know firsthand that coping with depression isn't easy.

  • Ameyak, You are very welcome. I made these videos - hoping to help people just like you. I'm glad I can contribute to your life. Lisa ;-)

  • well can you really blame ray charles? lol. he was BLIND. that would depress me too.

  • What's the soundtrack?

  • Ssuperslugful wrote: ocd is not a disorder. it's just being really stupidly obsessed.

LISA WRITES: I'm guessing you don't have OCD, and you haven't taken time to study it. I'm guessing you don't want to understand the biology / pathophysiology behind it, how the brain chemistry is different, how to fix it, how to help people cope, how to help people heal. Guessing you don't want to understand, you just want to insult & criticize. People don't need insults. They need HELP & SUPPORT.

  • @nvclisa thanks nvclisa....ive suffered since age 3 and want out...want to be normal...no more insults...justhelp...just to make mum and dad proud and never suffer again...want to be able to love my friends and makenew ones...nice to know we've got people like you on our side....instead of hurtful that jstdont want to be associated...prob have it themselves tooo...but maybe one day even they will make it out.

  • @nvclisa it's not an exact science... we dont know fully how the brain works yet (like we do with the live/heart e.t.c). alot of psychiatry is bullshit and compromises on people's freedoms. aspergers is the best example of that.

  • self injury, that is most often than not Borderline Personality Disorder

  • Donizetti=composer

  • Actually from what I understand some of these people are believed to have aspergers syndrome somr examples from this first part are: Courtney love, & Einstein I'n fact courtney love does actually have an official dx for mild autism

  • Einstein would have been diagnosed with autism.

  • I absolutely agree with the opinion on Einstein, no doubt the teachers would have insisted on him being tested for every "disability" that is currently a fad.

  • whats the music please, its very good?
