It is all about "jumping", "waving", "winging yuh waistline", "putting hands in the air", "flags in the air", or "anything in the air" etc. If you want lyrics and real content you have to shift to the non jump-up music. i.e. Calypso, Extempo, Sing-down, even some Chutney songs. Soca's main purpose is a party-- music first and foremost.
