Il n'a pas à la prendre en pitié. Si elle est incapable de compétitionner contre des hommes, qu'elle ne fasse ps ce genre de tournoi tout simplement :PP
Bro, you are in a no win situation here. If you lose, you feel ridiculous that you lost to a girl. If you win, everyone calls you a "tough guy" for going too hard on her. Bottom line is girls should not be allowed to compete in mens divisions in wrestling, football, any martial art or rugby. I can see a girl playing against men in volleyball, basketball or baseball. Unless the girl is a steroid freak like Nicole Bass. Just my opinion.
because your azz may have broke something on her. I suggest leave the grapping with girls in the gym and off youtube. If you have to go to a higher division to test yourself instead of beating up on warrior girls to make yourself feel better, because you should not. Nothing to be proud of in an actual tournament unless she was like christina cyborg type that actually would be some competition.
or someone you that was an obvious threat. BJJ tournaments are a good testing ground an a place for learning and experience, especially for beginners. That is not a balls out, life or death , I'm not gonna get this ufc contract if I lose kind of competition. Its just Mat Time. Tha was not a match you should be particularly proud of and posted on youtube. If anything you should be reviewing with your coaches on what mistakes you made and why you didn't finish her. Maybe its good that you didnt
I have to say your psy for Doing that to this girl. It was obvious from the start she had No wresting, tie up, or takedowns. You were clearly aggressive, strong arming and man handling her even when it was obvious to you she was no match. She was flexible an squirmy on the ground but was really overmatched. I say you definitely went overboard with the trip takedown after the failed ankle pick. Especially with the knee on boob move. I'm sure you would not have been that aggressive w a male
im no grappler but it appears that lacking experience in jiu jitsu groundfighting,he was trying to hold her at bay using judo techniques like the ones he mentioned.perhaps if this had been a gi match, she may have been able to secure a grip on his lapel tight enough to pull him into her so that she could execute techniques that he was not yet shooled in to defend against.
good for you man congrats. i see shes a poor looser she walked away and would not give you the satisfaction of having your arm raised over her. but if she won and you walked away youd be commiting the crime of unsportsmanlike conduct. its that double standard again. she and other women like her should probably just get a sex change and be done with it. i dont think these women like to be women . i think there trying to prove there a better man than you or i. well there not. thanks again.
this is an awsome match... that girl did do well! POOP on those who say it's bad to enter with minimal training! what do they know!?!? I did my first tournament with about 5 days training, with ONE actual grappling session...and got first place, so poop on them!
Hi Carly. How do you like the debate? These guys are so anti-woman. They are also anti saportsman. They don't want the girl to compete then they want special favors for the girl. Taking it easy on this girl? I wonder how she feels about this.
it drives me crazy! In no way should a guy even consider going easy on a woman in a competition. If she is stepping in there... ready to challenge a man, then she should be treated as a true opponent! For myself even in training, I definately don't want them going easy on me!
be careful. when a man hurts you youll change that attitude of yours. by the same token then you shouldnt complain if a man enters a female division and beats and hurts all of the girls and wins first place. but youd probably say whats he trying to prove, the jerk?? right?? but if you won first place in a mens division everyone is suppose to applaud that why the double standard ok a man shouldnt go easy on you. but youre taking a chance of getting hurt. intentionally or not. think my dear think
the reason we women compete against men is not because we WANT to or are trying to prove anything, it's because there are not very many women in this SPORT so they combine the divisions of male and female. lets say there was a man that entered a competition that weighed 125 lbs what do you think the chances are theres more men that same size? then theres a couple women that wiegh 125 they would let him compete with the people his same size male or female, doesnt matter. win or lose it's all fair
maybe so, but that was against women. and beginners wasnt it?? or not?? or with men as well?? i cant believe you beat every beginner male. also you were probably older than most. they were probably teens. correct me if im wrong im just asking for some clalrification. when an experienced man breaks your arm or hurts you somehow, i dont think youll be eager for them to go all out on you .anymore. will you?? careful what you wish for dear, you might get it. even if you are not wishing for it.
Those shorts are for making people feel uncomfortable about their own sexuality. Once they're distracted, then I pounce. That's my strategy, anyway. Not sure if it works...
Imagine this guys nerves multiplyed by a thousand looking across the mat and seeing UFC fighter JL standing there. I asked this young woman several times if she felt like she was ready and willing to step up and compete with larger/stronger opponents, like a tough competetor she said yes. I admire her for her bravery and never complained, on the mat or off to myself or any of the other representatives. She has a bright future and showed the spirit that makes this sport great.
This is the ref from this match. I did "cringe" with the first hard takedown but the more I thought about this match the more I saw it as lose lose for the young man. There is always some sort of nerves related to ANY type of competition, especially a combat sport and to try and hold back and/or control your nerves at a beginer level is almost impossible. Control is something that is achieved through experience, a lot of experience.
I don't even know why there is a debate here. If you have to say "protect"; "take it easy on"; or any of the sort, then that person is NOT ready to compete. I do understand the cliche "girl vs guy" argument but she and her trainers should have been prepared for that coming in and if she wasn't, THEN SHE WASN'T READY! I don't blame Joe for standing behind his students/family, but don't bad mouth another fighter for showing her that there is no sympathy anywhere, hence making her stronger for it.

Hi Joe, I was the other winner but I agree with you on all this. I have not been training long either. I did my very best taking it easy on her, when I did see the first match I thought it was too hard and felt bad for her. I do think she will be good and payback can be a bitch.lol

She trained for 2 weeks and wanted to jump in. She had trained like 3 or 4 classes. I should discourage her for wanting to test herself?
My problem is not that she lost... its how she were treated. Its like letting my 10 year old cousin play football with us, and instead of tackling him easily planting him into the ground and saying "well he wanted to play".
I am just saying, the same level of consideration will be give back.
Yes you should discourage her from competing if she is not ready yet. She will be very good if not great but she should not have been in there...yet. That is on you not zuchinipants. It would be hard to give it back because zuchinipants will not be put into an event over his head.
All I am saying, Joe, is that sometimes you need to protect your students from what they want. We do it all the time.
Lets applaud your fighter for a solid effort under a difficult situation.
Wouldn't the ref stop anything that was considered too aggressive? Or, shouldn't the coach tell the ref that it is too much & remove the fighter from the event?
If she were a black belt she would be in the wrong division and won easily. You may not have liked how zuchinipants fought but there was nothing he did wrong, at all. It seems to come down to male or female she was not ready. If your problem is he should go easy because she is a girl then that was your call to have her fight. I agree with diddyjwu, she will be better for it in the long run. You should have waited until NAGA and give he more time and get to fight women.
Why on earth would someone with 2 weeks experience enter a tournament? Poor judgement by the coach. I hope this coach is called upon for his terrible decision-making and poor sportsmanship.
I personally competed with only 3 weeks and still did good. This is the best experience you can get so don't dis the coach for giving their student some real matches. Who cares if you lose your getting very valuable experience.
Last Part: If that is the case, I ask again, what are you training her to do? If you felt she was in over her head and her opponents were too hard on her that reflects on you, as her coach, putting her in the event. As far as lets see you fight some of our other guys and see you at the next event cause we are going to mess you up, lets try to be adults here. She did very well and if she keeps competing against men then she is going to massacre any woman she fights.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'm sure you felt real tough acting like an asshole to a girl. I would think you could use a reasonable amount of control on a girl thats been training for two weeks. I just hope a few of my guys will have a chance to repay the courtesy you had and dump you on your head, slam you a few times, rag doll you all over the mat and grind their forearm across your face. It's a small world, so I am sure they will get a chance.
I'm sorry, Joe. I had no idea of her skill level at the time and took the match seriously. I kept it standing because I assumed her ground game was much better than mine. Of course I had no intention of injuring her or of "grinding my forearm across her face". Believe me, I never feel like a tough guy. The only thing I wanted to do that day was use the throws that I've learned, not hurt anybody -- if she landed on her head, then my technique needs improvement. I hope she's ok.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
im with joe, you never use ur strength against someone of less experience size or strength. you use technique..not to mention u wouldnt score anypints "keeping it standing". if u wanna "keep it standing" fight me or anybody else in a cage. my girlfriend trains MMA and jiu jitsu and i hope we see you around the next tournament.
I have only 3 months experience and am not strong. I didn't choose to fight her, knew nothing about her, and wasn't told to throw the fight for her sake. I should upload the video of her other fight where the guy almost ripped her arm off in a kimura. Talk about not using strength...
It seems like common sense that you don't enter a grappling tournament without being able to defend takedowns and break a fall, at least.
She did well, and I'm sure she'll be awesome in a month, as you say.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
shoving a small girl around the mat is not taking it seriously... thats being an asshole. I don't care to hear about how you didn't intend to grind your forearm across her face, because thats exactly what you did.
It was your first tournament, but it was hers too. Girl is as tough as a lion and will be fine, but she still shouldn't have had to go through that.
You're right, she shouldn't have had to go through that; she should have been properly prepared and trained before competing.
I really can't understand where the anger towards Zucchinipants is coming from. He did nothing foul or excessive. If there is a problem here, it is, simply, with that young woman's coaching.
Let me start by saying I thought your girl did great considering her experience and size, strength deficits in this match. Zucchinipants did not attempt to throw her on her head. It seems like you are saying throw her, but carefully or she might get hurt, use your strength, but just enough, be careful, she is just a girl.
