I'd kill to have one of these cars here in Indiana-preferably as mine. America might have hundreds of thousands of mustangs, camaros, fiebirds Torinos etc. But Austraila has only thousands of some of the best muscle cars I have ever seen. Valiant Chargers, The Torana, Monaro, ford falcon XW-XC...How did the guys in Detroit NOT come up with some american versions of these beasts? Not just this JohnGoss special here, but the utes, the sedans. You austrailians are so damn lucky thav these.

Mate this sounds sweet. What mufflers/placement/headers are you running? placement is most critical. After owning a few cars with (very annoying) boomy exhausts, I've come to appreciate a more throaty sound. My coupe is very far off but this is a great inspiration.

Interesting bit of trivia. The 302 cu/in Cleveland V8 is exclusive to Australia. After all the Cl;eveland V8 machining tools were shipped to Ford Australia, they designed a new crankshaft & set of con rods to destroke the 351 to 302 as they no longer had access to 302 Windsors.

Yeah you're right, '71 Mustangs, '70 Torinos & XA Falcon Coupes all came out around the same time so all would have emerged from the same design philosophy. However I personally reckon the XA-XB-XC coupes are the best proportioned of the lot.

OK, I'm biased cause i own an XB and I'm Aussie... that I'll admit.

Mustangs have always been based on Falcon chassis and mechanicals. Ford small blocks are pretty much interchangeable (except early windsors) and even big blocks are a straight bolt-in for XA- onwards Falcons. the only hassle is exhaust, etc.

You most likely wont see one just cruising the streets, as they are very rare these days.

tell you what... be on the lookout for some muscle car shows or off-street drag meets cause we have quite a good scene here. You're bound to come across one of these handsome machines at an event like that.

Also look for car clubs in the area you want to go to, they might just have a cruise somewhere near you. You'll see plenty of them then!

But if it's already old and tired then maybe it's best not to take chances. keeping the valvesprings up and making sure the keepers arent worn and installing arp rod bolts will keep it together. floating the valves will destroy the valvetrain dropping valves and rod bolt stretch will let the bearings slip and throw a rod.

It's not good for an engine to never run it up and putt it round. it's going to wear in as a slow motor and fall apart when someone does run it out

firstly motor at that point had less than 100km on it so couldnt feed it to it,, the motor was still tight... after 100km's around town driving makin sure all was goin good, it was straight out onto the highway for a further 400km sittin on 3000rpm to 4000rpm.. now it doesnt have any drama what so eva revin to the limit :)

Hi mate nice Whats your opinion on the MSD ignition you put in it compared to the standard system it had. Trying to solve annoying prob where my 75xb runs shit (351C with standard electronic ignition) for the first 15 minutes or so when cold. I am not particularly worried about any noticeable improvement in performance/power at normal running temp, however wouldn't complain if there is. Also, any improvement at takeoff and acceleration. ive found that a crane cams HI-6 with a LX-92 coil (or PS-92) are good, reliable, cheaper than an MSD setup, they put out more power than a MSD digital 7, but they lack the controllability. i have an XC ute w/ rally pack, 351c, FMX with tricky bits in it, 9" LSD, 4 barrel carby, HI-6 setup, runs high 12s all day. i would get an ignition system but i wouldnt think that is the cause of your problem, although it will greatly help. they are well worth the money, if u treat them right they will last.

Ya dad or whoever told you 2 write these comments should get the right facts. Bumperstripes were put on not long after it was bought. The badges are meant to be there. Different dealerships had different options packs back then, but if any1 wanted 2 add something like spoilers they could purchase the original products.
