Devo's 'New Traditionalists' was the first album that broke me from my classic rock/metal tendencies waaay back in '81. This was quite a feat coming from a clique that respected The Who, Doors, Rush, Police, Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc. exclusively.

I can't believe that it's been 20 years since the last Devo album...But based on the fire from the Fresh single I can't freakin' wait!

@laili67 Really? Catchy, simple, repetitive guitar riffs, check. Excellent synth work, check. Close drum mics, check. Sparse arrangement, check -- more layers than before, but it's still pretty close I think. Same vocal style, check.

The only thing I hear differently is the quality of the recording, compression (ok yea it's too much, what modern album isn't?), and maybe more vocals than usual. I think what you are saying is that it's recorded nothing like old Devo.
