BTW, Satie rather eccentrically collected umbrellas which he would not use in the rain since they were "too valuable". When he died they found a lot of umbrellas in his apartment.

I read somewhere that Satie collected umbrellas but never used them as they were too special to get wet. My guess is that he was messing with people-----he had a peculiar sense of humor.

But such lovely music!!!!!!! Gnossienne no. 3 is another great piece by Satie if you liked this one.
