My least favorite Fellini film---you can tell that he had nothing but contempt for this character which he stated in interviews, calling a "stronzo". He cast Donald Sutherland because he a "forgettable" face and he looked like an erection. Apart from a few amazing set pieces the film just sort of meanders along without Fellini's usual hope or joy--even if the hope is ambiguous. The opening shot of the head of Venus being lifted from the canal is stunning.
You did a fantastic job!!! This trailer is absolutely stunning. A very haunting piece. I have an import dvd but I'm hoping The Criterion Collection picks it up.

I saw this film when it was first shown. I have searched for a copy of thismovie for many more years then I care to remember. I guess that this film had alot to do with my exposure to Opera and the cult following of Fellini connection. Was so glad that its beauty was not a fragment of my imagination. Thanks for toe posting.
I have watched this trailer probably ten times by now. Did you produce this during the film release? I cant find a copy of the dvd to rent by the way. I must see this some day. I feel like it has similar characteristics to Amadeus and Marie Antoinette.

I once got the opportunity to interview Sandy Allen, who at point was considered the Tallest Woman in the World and who played (appropriately) the Tall Lady in this movie. At one point she tripped during filming, and she called out, "Mr. Fellini, how do you say, 'Timber' in Italian?":)
Is there a way of getting a copy of this movie?

@VeniceKnipe,
I produced this for the film's airing on a video on demand network called Intertainer. We did this back in 2000-2002...somewhere in there.

yeah, I really enjoyed this a lot too. It was very creative, but also showed a lot of constraint . Nice work!

Donald Sutherland was supreme in this film, I also think Fellini did a fantastic job translating his style to this GREAT story.
