(a) Why do we have such a distorted perception of beauty?

(b) The "make-up" photos represent people who were POSING for photos (ex. looking in camera, anticipating the photo), with lighting for the photo, likely some retouching, etc. The "no make-up" photos are the individual photographed on a regular day, out shopping or walking the dog.

Remember that celebs are photographed ALL the time, good days, bad, etc. Imagine if you had 200 photos of your "breakout" acne or "hung over" days. :P
