Ah, this is the L'il Devil video I remember watching again and again as a teenager. Every move Ian makes is familar, even after all these years. And those moves have the same effect on me now as they did when I was 16. Sex on legs, baby. Mind-blowing.
The later L'il Devil vid has it's place, sure, but this is classic Cult: steaming hot without even trying. Greatest band ever.
@mzbelinda61 but still better than your blokes that sound like girls ,man u fact music ,i have a prob ,slit your wrist ,all over the shop music of today
as an 80s old timer rock chic the cult has got to be one of the best rock bands of that time and nobdy else filled a pair of leather trousers in the same way!!
Actually, in the Wild Flower video, Ian uses a lot of the same mannerisms that Danzig had already used for years (like how he holds the mic at 1:38 and 1:40), and the guitar player is also wearing a Samhain shirt in that video (at 2:17).
My comment was full of cynicism, of course I noticed the t shirt. Though I am not that well versed in Danzig's mannerisms on stage in spite of being a fan of both.
This is my fave Cult song. They're new to me but I love them so much. Now I know why my older bro calls me the lil devil now I've heard this song, lolz.
@HassleThaHoff , I feel the same way........thank god they came out when they did there wasn't much out there and if you craved really talented straight on, in your face rockers those were the boys who filled the void...... I saw them live in Toronto and that band was tight.......the best concert ever and they actually sounded great live, there's not too many out there today.
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Rev 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
I know. And this version fucking ROCKS! I'm just a perfectionist myself and would never uploaded something that isn't complete. I'm going to try find this video elsewhere and upload it myself.
lol Well I found the site where this person got it from, dailymotion, but like this one it's a few seconds incomplete. The horrible MTV version is everywhere, but I'll keep looking☺
It's almost identical to the album one, other than the solo and some vocals. I think I almost like it better.
Anyone know what the absolute original sounded like? Cuz i read that after Rubin handed him a Les Paul and a Marshall, Duffy took the riff and played it differently. I'm wondering, what did it sound like before?
Yeah, you can tell the vocal and the lead guitar is slightly different here. I like it better as well after listening to 'Electric' after 20+ years. Great post!
This is SUPERB!!! I've never seen this before. I LOVE the CULT... best band to come out of the 80's and the best band around today. They are AMAZING live... I would totally recommend anybody to go and se them... it's like a religious experience.

this is THE 1st song I ever played, in my 1st real rock band, for real $, real stage, 1989. 1st song was supposed to be Love removal machine, and I was so nervous that I practiced those 3 chords for 1/2 hour, we get on stage, the singer looked at our lead guitarist, and said, the Cult! and he starts lil' devil! my jaw hit the floor! No offense my fellow cult fan-but this is not the original vid-i know because they filmed it right here in southern indiana-i helped with the production-they had bikers and all kinds of stuff in it not in any way related to this-peace to you bro
Sorry man, but this IS actually the original video --- this was on TV over here in Australia back in 1987/88. I've still got it recorded off TV on BETAMAX video (yup!). The b/w biker clip came later - when the single was released in USA and the big tour started. This version even has a different audio recording to the official released track (check out the guitar solo for starters!). So glad this is online as i haven't been able to find it anywhere! WISH THE CULT WOULD COME TO AUSTRALIA AGAIN!!!
Dear subturban, if you'll look to your left at related videos, you'll see a video by a fellow that calls himself fuzzbuzz 2000. This is the vid to which I refer and IT WAS the original. Anyways take care down there, peace
Mate, you've gotta give some reason / facts / evidence to support your statement. All you're saying is "IT WAS" the original. That's not good enuff. The video you are pointing to is the SECOND clip released. This clip is the original Rick Rubin edit. You didn't even know this existed, so how can you say which one came first? C'mon dude, let's bring some facts to bare yeah? Peace. Out.
All I can say is I'm 98% sure the video here is the video that was shown on TOTP when this song charted in Britain. It has been a looong time since I've seen it, there are a few very minor differences from what I think I remember, but there's no question it's not the other one and I don't imagine they made two like this. Regardless, it's a brilliant song.
I love The CULT! The are simply the the best rock band in the world. They're playing Boston's Orpheum Theatre in April '08, and I'll be there for sure...again! CFFC...always.
One of the best jams they ever did--pure rock, no frilly bullshit. Meat and potatoes solid goddamn rock-n-fuckin' roll. Take that to the bank, little rapper suck on your momma's teat baby boy.
Still can rock the house!Saw em in Atlanta on Nov.4-2007! Awesome- Probably better than the first time I saw them in Nashville in the late 80's. If you get a chance see em in a smaller venue!
