  • I love Ian's fashion sense, it's like Native American with feather in his hair and leather jack of punk rock

  • This is Rock 'n' Roll

  • I am like 16 and listening to Cult whereas most of my friends havent even heard about 'em...So f**king sad!

  • Such a GREAT song and great album, Cult Forever, Forever Cult !

  • CRAP ma mum made me put it on cuz she likes it and she is like 50

  • Billy does a Chuck Berry jig @ 1:46 - ha ha ha - fucking classic ! !

  • this is a great 80's band the sounds are so sweet.

  • What a voice and a guitar! Some people are blessed for music!

  • bet ac/dc wished they came up with that riff !!

  • evil thinking anyone

  • This is a great song!!!

  • Another Gem from the late 80's Ian Freakin wails in this......

  • This song remind me of my prison days in 1988.,... Good times bad times, he,he... Salute from Croatia

  • que buena banda the cult super

  • billy duffy is good on 3 chords c,g and d

  • Ah, this is the L'il Devil video I remember watching again and again as a teenager. Every move Ian makes is familar, even after all these years. And those moves have the same effect on me now as they did when I was 16. Sex on legs, baby. Mind-blowing.

The later L'il Devil vid has it's place, sure, but this is classic Cult: steaming hot without even trying. Greatest band ever.

  • ELECTRIC!

  • Excellent band :o)

  • Shame the first note was hacked off though. Incomplete.

  • They toured with Aerosmith a few times. Probably a lot of "whose got the biggest pout" competitions going on between Ian and Steve

  • now, this is rock an roll baby!

  • OMG, help me.....lol

  • @mzbelinda61 but still better than your blokes that sound like girls ,man u fact music ,i have a prob ,slit your wrist ,all over the shop music of today

  • Ian Astbury is the shiznit

  • yes he is ...

  • Second that gorgeous head of hair, but without the voice...meh...just another pretty face. However, that voice will never be just meh.

  • oh without a doubt the Voice is IT....

    hands down !!

  • LOVE the Long Dark Hair, LIL Devil....

  • fucking awesome

  • as an 80s old timer rock chic the cult has got to be one of the best rock bands of that time and nobdy else filled a pair of leather trousers in the same way!!

  • Did Glenn Danzig base his whole solo career on this album or what?

  • Actually, in the Wild Flower video, Ian uses a lot of the same mannerisms that Danzig had already used for years (like how he holds the mic at 1:38 and 1:40), and the guitar player is also wearing a Samhain shirt in that video (at 2:17).

  • My comment was full of cynicism, of course I noticed the t shirt. Though I am not that well versed in Danzig's mannerisms on stage in spite of being a fan of both.

  • Danzig is an asshole, that's the big difference though :D

  • @mcr00777 really? I met him twice and he was very nice both times

  • My brother approached him on the street as a fan and Danzig shoved him. =/

  • You have too much time on your hands.

  • @337mckenna maybe, but you're doing the same shit I am

  • that's funny. I think your right.

  • this is different to the album version

  • This is Rock-N-Roll

This video version is so hard to find, it's either cut off a few seconds in the beginning, in the end or both like this one.

Thanks, this beats that MTV crap version by far.

  • I'm so with you on that comment. Long Live Rock "N" Roll brother!!!

  • I like the dirtier sound of this mix. I wonder if there is other original mixes?

  • what a riff... dirty boogie guitar that Bolan would've been proud of! Duffy even does an Angus young foot shuffle before the solo. Perfect!

  • This is my fave Cult song. They're new to me but I love them so much. Now I know why my older bro calls me the lil devil now I've heard this song, lolz.

  • Boogie til you blow chunks.

  • Great video awsome band

  • This was a real rock band! Not the bullshit we see this days!!!!!!!!

  • ROCK `N ROLL !!!!!!

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

the best hard rockn'roll albums ever!

    pure raw rockn'roll!

  • great!!!!!!

  • I didn't even know this existed, very cool! Thanks for putting it up here!

  • These guys just kick rockin' ass Best front man in rock with duffy on the chords and the pumping bass How lucky we where to see such talent!!!

  • <3 The Cult !!!!

  • Electric is one of the best rock n roll albums ever made.

Many people like their "Love" period more, but this is pure RnR gold for me.

  • @HassleThaHoff , I feel the same way........thank god they came out when they did there wasn't much out there and if you craved really talented straight on, in your face rockers those were the boys who filled the void...... I saw them live in Toronto and that band was tight.......the best concert ever and they actually sounded great live, there's not too many out there today.

  • @HassleThaHoff . I second that.

  • @HassleThaHoff Exactly right

  • @HassleThaHoff \m/ fuck yeah!

  • shit that mix is rad, raw as hell. They were so good in this period.

  • but they make it look good!

  • No blasphemy intended, but in this video the boys look like they mugged Bon Jovi and stole their wardrobe *dives for cover*

  • "Dizzy in a haze for... 40 days" love it!

I like this mix and I like Ian's look. A lot. Wow.

  • they look like they're playing cowboys & indians

    lol @ ian's package

  • I love rock and roll packages.........

  • This song is fucking amazing... I love The Cult.

  • I love the cowboy and indian outfits.I have the horse can I join?

  • I heard you like horses....

  • Drool fest *swooon*

  • Holy...

    His look was just so...perfect.

  • this is one of those raw alternate takes that still rocks... if you don't have this CD (Electric), get it!

  • so true,a classic m8.

  • That hat is soooo not Duffy!

  • a good few years before as well !

  • dancedance

  • Only the Best

  • Are you fucking kidding me? You can't even upload the entire song?

  • it's only missing the last 2 seconds of the song I'm sure it wsn't the guys fault

  • I know. And this version fucking ROCKS! I'm just a perfectionist myself and would never uploaded something that isn't complete. I'm going to try find this video elsewhere and upload it myself.

  • Let us know when you do! :)

  • lol Well I found the site where this person got it from, dailymotion, but like this one it's a few seconds incomplete. The horrible MTV version is everywhere, but I'll keep looking☺

  • Here you go WoodRatGirl, the full version of Lil Devil.

  • Classic song, just love the guitar riff at the start.

  • Quality tune 80s rulez

  • re enfermos eran de la conchesuvida este video locazo underground solo para originalez larga vida al Rock & Roll

  • the bass kicks ass i love that song

  • capolavoro, che nostalgia.....

  • Bow wow wow wow! Be MYYYYYYYYYYYYY Angel!!

    Fucking Sick!

    The Houndman

  • I love this song. I remember it being in the movie Less Than Zero while Rbert Downey Jr. dances to it while at the Plaza Hotel in L.A.

Ian has such an incredible synthetic voice. You gotta love him.

  • Hey Viking King ne my Lil Devil!

  • It's almost identical to the album one, other than the solo and some vocals. I think I almost like it better.

Anyone know what the absolute original sounded like? Cuz i read that after Rubin handed him a Les Paul and a Marshall, Duffy took the riff and played it differently. I'm wondering, what did it sound like before?

  • Yeah, you can tell the vocal and the lead guitar is slightly different here. I like it better as well after listening to 'Electric' after 20+ years. Great post!

  • Thought this was slightly different than the cd but then again hearings fucked in my left ear listening to the CULT full tilt for 20+ years.

  • ??????

  • This is SUPERB!!! I've never seen this before. I LOVE the CULT... best band to come out of the 80's and the best band around today. They are AMAZING live... I would totally recommend anybody to go and se them... it's like a religious experience.

  • blizzard in a bottle............lil devil..........hmmm wonder what he's singing about...that's what i love about these guys..all their great anthems to dope...they rock and always will...dj b 80's dj shreveport, la...

  • its lizard in a bottle, according to the CD flap lyric thing...the single also featured a little lizard-devil thing on the cover. The Lil Devil clock is cool too.

  • The gangsta rap couldn't be a floor mat to this music!

  • HAHAHAHAAHAA

  • luv luv luv it xxxxxxx

  • this is THE 1st song I ever played, in my 1st real rock band, for real $, real stage, 1989. 1st song was supposed to be Love removal machine, and I was so nervous that I practiced those 3 chords for 1/2 hour, we get on stage, the singer looked at our lead guitarist, and said, the Cult! and he starts lil' devil! my jaw hit the floor! I was shattered! Took two verses to recover! but with quality rock like this, it's easy to look good anyway! I saw the Cult open for Metallica, 1990? Billy rocked!

  • I saw them in Boston last night. I am wearing the "Electric" as I type this comment. They ROCKED.

  • I love the Cult!

Seen them in BXL last month!!!

    CFFC ;)

  • No offense my fellow cult fan-but this is not the original vid-i know because they filmed it right here in southern indiana-i helped with the production-they had bikers and all kinds of stuff in it not in any way related to this-peace to you bro

  • Sorry man, but this IS actually the original video --- this was on TV over here in Australia back in 1987/88. I've still got it recorded off TV on BETAMAX video (yup!). The b/w biker clip came later - when the single was released in USA and the big tour started. This version even has a different audio recording to the official released track (check out the guitar solo for starters!). So glad this is online as i haven't been able to find it anywhere! WISH THE CULT WOULD COME TO AUSTRALIA AGAIN!!!

  • Youre wrong but thats ok peace

  • Dear subturban, if you'll look to your left at related videos, you'll see a video by a fellow that calls himself fuzzbuzz 2000. This is the vid to which I refer and IT WAS the original. Anyways take care down there, peace

  • Mate, you've gotta give some reason / facts / evidence to support your statement. All you're saying is "IT WAS" the original. That's not good enuff. The video you are pointing to is the SECOND clip released. This clip is the original Rick Rubin edit. You didn't even know this existed, so how can you say which one came first? C'mon dude, let's bring some facts to bare yeah? Peace. Out.

  • All I can say is I'm 98% sure the video here is the video that was shown on TOTP when this song charted in Britain. It has been a looong time since I've seen it, there are a few very minor differences from what I think I remember, but there's no question it's not the other one and I don't imagine they made two like this. Regardless, it's a brilliant song.

  • Excellent! Takes me back to some emphatic air-guitar in my bedroom in the eighties.

  • You and me both.

Now wtf did I stash that damned air guitar...

    Robert

  • Most original and best live band i've seen...and i've seen a lot...

Well ..c'mon who else sounds like 'em?

And the other best bands...Ramones and Motorhead...ok i'll let you have Maiden.

    Who can disagree?...

  • The Cult and Motorhead are two of the bands on your list that I have seen live.

    Hella loud!

  • Hail cult.

  • I love The CULT! The are simply the the best rock band in the world. They're playing Boston's Orpheum Theatre in April '08, and I'll be there for sure...again! CFFC...always.

  • muy buen video, gracias por subirlo! seguro no vas a entender que digo, pero no tengo ganas de traducirme.

    excelent1!!

  • Ian in his Buffy Sainte-Marie halloween costume... love this.. VERY RARE indeed.

  • the pants!

    i can see his lil'devil

  • ER, I liked the earlier Cult--but this song et al. on LRM are not bad. BUT!

Please! Ditch the quasi-Young Guns-neo-Western look. Ouch!

    Robert

  • Class. I adore this song, can't wait to see them in Feb!

  • Perfection!

  • One of the best jams they ever did--pure rock, no frilly bullshit. Meat and potatoes solid goddamn rock-n-fuckin' roll. Take that to the bank, little rapper suck on your momma's teat baby boy.

  • Actually some of the best rap/rock I've heard mixes the two: witness Run D.M.C.'s Rockbox or Public Enemy's She watch Channel Zero.

    Robert

  • Still can rock the house!Saw em in Atlanta on Nov.4-2007! Awesome- Probably better than the first time I saw them in Nashville in the late 80's. If you get a chance see em in a smaller venue!

  • I loved them since I was young

    Ilove them now

I will love them 4eveer|they're painted on my heart!!!

  • I saw them when I was young like you too, back in 1985 in West Germany when they were brought overseas to tune up as a "warm-up band" for DEEP PURPLE!

Of course I was on my second year of the Army and all of 21 then... just LIKE YOU...!

    LOL

  • im only 13 and i love the cult i think the song is great

  • Guitar Riff it's one of the best ever !!

  • Possibly the best song ever.

  • what a great performance, love it!!!

  • Good ol´ asskicking rock ´n´ roll

    This is awesome!

  • Wow! I did not know of an original version of this video! Thanks for posting it. All hail The CULT...my favorite band.

  • Yep, they were really something! When you combine the english with native american spirituality you got one interesting artist!

  • Catch that duckwalk?

  • Although The Cult had a sound that is derived from AC/DC on Electric, the Cult had a knack for coming up with catchy choruses.

  • Great ^^

  • Brilliant!
