About 6 minutes in is an excerpt of him dancing with no costome or make-up. It's simply Tamsaburo.

  • Very elegant! A perfect mixed of kabuki and cello

  • Hmm.... I love Bach, love cello, love kabuki and I also think that Tamasaburo is unmatched as a female role specialist, but cello+Bach=works Kabuki+(cello+Bach)=not so sure.

  • Beautiful.

  • Very beautiful and moving. What is the music? It sounds like Bach, played slower than usual.

  • Bach's Suite No. 5 for Unaccompanied Cello

  • Thanks for identifying the music, tiffenakou. Serendipitously, I just recently bought a used copy of Yo Yo Ma's recordings of those Bach suites, but hadn't yet listened to all of them. Of course, I immediately put it on, and discovered that he really does play it that slowly. :)

  • He's a male

  • These foreigne (on purpose) language comments make me

feel inferior and poorly educated, but I loved the music.

  • Sorry, Sir, that my comment made you feel inferior, but it's strange that you think it was done on purpose. I'm glad that you just love the music. Same with me. And, by the way, I love the dance too. Good luck :)

  • Yes, in front of God we are without any illusory 'covering.' It's not easy to be like that, even while addressing Him. Thank you for sharing this piece of art.

  • Thank you cheng1LA for your insightful comment. I hadn't thought of it that way, and watching it again, I saw so many new layers of meaning within this collaboration because of what you added.

  • Thank you. Nice to know when your realization finds a place in somebody else's mind/heart.

incidentally, would you have any part of this piece? i'd also love "mourning" and "harmony(?)"

  • Sure!!!I also want to paste them on net, however, since I uploaded this one, others were refused. I've tried many times, but all failed. Sorry! If you want to get them, I think I can send them to you by mail(if the attachment is enough space ^_^).本当にすみません!
