  • You can truely get fucked up to this song its that fucking epic.

  • If this had screaming, it would be perfect.

  • @grapezrgood false.

  • @grapezrgood Im glad this song doesn't have screaming, that would ruin it.

  • @grapezrgood shut up.

  • aaaahhh the good ol days of fuse. the days when fuse would introduce me to great bands daily. RIP good music television

  • @ouch4899 seriously wtf happened to fuse. every day i used to run home from school and watch it all day and see nothing but great music, now its just as bad as mtv

  • @ouch4899 Rest in peace MTV ;(

  • @ouch4899 p-rock was much better if you never watched it you missed out big time

  • you guys should check out the band "Honor Bright" <3 there amazingg

  • now this was/is music...i just noticed it sounds a bit like alexisonfire lol

  • love this song on Riding In Vans With Boys

  • Do "digital drugs" qualify as breaking edge???? LOL, they don't even work.

  • @Devaprakash777 -and no, i'm not hooked on digital drugs, i've only heard like 1 minute of track on youtube once

  • fucking shit

  • sorta reminds me of a less hardcore snapcase

  • I live in Jamestown, ND which is on I-94 West. They're talking about how boring and worthless this town is, which it is. Haha

  • @NickLuvinGB Actually they are talking about an accident that happened on I-94.

  • Good charlotte sucks. This sucks. Everything sucks.

  • LOL GOOD CHARLOTTE

  • Christ, guys, I smell elitism.

  • one of the best lines in any song ever "if my minds the weapon, then my hearts the extra clip"

  • Its sad that this is the only good song they have... I have this CD & really think about throwing it out of the window often.

  • @ravenbordelon worthless opinion

  • Wow I miss the movielife....

  • what's the book on the table?

  • @simonratcliffe5000 its The Catcher in the Rye. You can also see a poster of the Imagine memorial to John Lennon in New York, as well as bloody eyeglasses that look very similar to John Lennon's.

  • thrash pop!

  • FOCUS!!

  • one of my favorite bands but i dont know how to label them...? punk, post hc,rock,hc or just "good music"........!!!!!!!

  • Melodic Hardcore

  • thats the right term... live this band is so hc style i miss this band with all they had thanks for replying!!!!!!!

  • at 1:35 cool..

  • This song is about Jamestown, North Dakota. Which is where i am from and live. Its wierd, such a small town, and yet there is a song about my home town

  • @metalmanmania fuck off you cunt

  • fucking miss this band so much.

  • what.a.song

  • im only dissapointed that they were all straight edge then later on after the band they'd all started to drink even vince

  • who cares. why do straight edge kids try to have a great image when all they are, are a bunch of assholes who complain about everyone except for themselves.

  • paul from silverstein is straight edge you know, you cant say that he's not caring and that, and cove from saosin Lol. we dont act like that, some of us do some of us show respect. nuff said.

  • People grow up, man. Not saying this as a flame, but just saying.

Besides, if they drink in moderation, there's really no problem, right?

  • well its better than getting drunk i know that lol

  • Comment removed

  • @twannabehawk straight edge it's in fact a personal thing,but

    your'e a fucking sellout

  • @soyelmalditoenemigo That totally didn't make sense. Selling out means you actually have to sell / make money out of it.

  • @twannabehawk you're a dumbfuck

  • @Xxemo10xX If that's the only thing you're going to say then look at yourself first before calling other people what you really are.

  • Comment removed

  • amaZing fucking song

  • that song change at 1:37 makes me climax every time. lol. so i know the song is about a car wreck the band got into in Jamestown, and how it messed with the morale of the band...but what does the "Dakota Apartments" in 1980 have to with the video aside from the fact they filmed it there?

  • I saw them on fuse years ago when the record came out and they're all apparently huge Lennon fans. Hence the Imagine mosaic, Catcher in the Rye, etc.

  • really? interesting.

  • @drewhadou jamestown RI?

  • I think it was Jamestown, North Dakota.

  • no it was ny, hence referance to penn station manhatten. there is a long island railroad stop at jamestown, a town quite close to stoney brook university, in soffulk county, long island ny.

  • I am aware - I'm from Long Island lol

But it actually was Jamestown, North Dakota. Their bus crashed out there and they had no choice but to take a train - forty hours back to Penn Station.

  • i love the movielife. i saw them in concert in like 03 with mxpx and good charlotte...lmao. and that day i fell in love with them.

  • Ah yeah!!! I've been listening to this album lately.

Sooo good. I wish I appreciated it as much as I do now a few years ago.

  • once again, so fucking good! Wish these dudes were still around as a band.

  • first album was fantastic

  • this time next year was an awesome album but 40 hour train back to penn ... well, you cant beat the first 2 songs for energy and just watch face or kneecaps then this video back to back over and over over and over !!

  • One of the greatest punk bands of all-time.

    All hail THE MOVIELIFE!! YEAH!

  • no, they arent.

  • Nope

  • I grew up in jamestown nd, superbestestwestest is correct. Also when asked if "there was anywhere that they would never go again?" the band KISS replied "Jamestown North Dakota". KISS was harrassed by a mob of angry 'Christians'.

  • haha fuck KISS

  • wow i miss these guys.

  • The building at 3:00 is where John Lennon died.

  • also the red hunting hat from 'the catcher in the rye' is at 0:44

  • is this song written about catcher in the rye? i love that book, but i never made the connection

  • I'm not sure if it is, i doubt it.

  • no the song is about when they wrecked their van in Jamestown, North Dakota, hence the name Jamestown. supposedly the wreck brought "tension" to the band....so i think thats where the phrase "i dont feel the break, but i feel the bend" might be a metaphor for the wreck. "the bend" would be the van wreck i think, and the break would obviously be the break up of the band. Idk its just somethin i thought of once

  • at 2:12 is that "the catcher in the rye" on the table

  • no i dont think it is

  • "if my mind is the weapon my heart is the extra clip" im talking about the lyrics u nerd dint u see the TWO dots then i say nice song..u sound like u have mental illness sorry bout tat

  • "Goddamn pay attention or stop listening to music you dont even really listen to." that makes no sense at all.

  • hey bud! below me. i hope you know whoever wrote 'if my mind is the weapon my heart is the extra clip', probably was meaning thats their favorite part of the song? dont know... but im just guessing. you seriously dont have to be such a jerk off because of really simple things. some people spell dog, dogg. people dont hop all over them because of that! so, just informing you(:

  • does anyone know wut model fenders (if they are fenders) Navetta and Brandon use in this video???

  • they are both strats i think the orange one is a deluxe

  • were they or are they straight edge? i'd say so probaly

  • if my mind is the weapon my heart is the extra clip..nice song

  • Saw the movielife play a gig in a small pub in southampton, uk back in early 00's and the support were thursday .. fucking best night of my life !!!!

  • I love vinny, he's a wicked cool guy. I was at a I am the avalanche show on Halloween and I got kicked in the face in the pit during the band that went on before them. I had to go to the emergency room and miss them. Later in the night my friend mike showed up with a IATA shirt that vinny had him give me. Then just recently I got to meet him at an acoustic set and we talked about that night and the movielife and how I never expected seeing him live when I used to listen to these guys.

  • saw these guy in cardiff (wales0 a few years ago and the power kept cutting out... but they were ace about it... turned out to be an awesome gig....

  • GC sucks ass. never compare them to any good band. Even The Movielife.

  • i agree.

  • taking back sunday and brand new love these guys... i'm kind of disappointed.

well, it may be great, but it wasn't on first listen.

  • wasnt eddie from tbs in this band at some point?

  • yeah, i think for like a year or two circa 1999.

  • to be fair I think he means he loves them as much as he does GC

but yeah, you can't really compare GC and the Movielife, they're completely different

even though I love both bands

  • only seen them once. when mxpx was on the honda civic tour 2003 with good charlotte and new found glory

  • This is the sort of music that I like :D

  • rock, hardrock or fucking punk rock? its still a song and its good

  • good charlote sucks

  • fuck you. don't EVER compare this band to Good Charlotte, now please get the fuck out of our music scene you fag.

  • @xWHARRGARBLx

They opened for Good Charlotte, so that guy isn't really doing anything wrong. I saw them my first (and only) time at a Good Charlotte/New Found Glory concert, where they and MxPx were the openers. So your denial aside, these kinds of pop-rockish bands are all basically the same style, just because some become celebrity whores doesn't make them different.

  • @HLFracture SAME, and agree

  • @xWHARRGARBLx lmao. the movielife opened for good charlotte in 03....

  • @xWHARRGARBLx why don't you drop those x's off your name you homophobic piece of shit. I guartantee you theMovielife doesn't approve of you calling people fags.

  • this is punk rock !!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck i wish this band was still together

  • how dare you compare the movielife to good charlotte! your sick! good charlotte is a bunch of poseurs and they have no musical talent at all. Vin and the rest of ML could shit better music than GC

  • They are waaay better. Good Charlotte became freakin fake. The movielife makes a different kind of music too.

So, don't even compare those two.

And, yeah. I don't get why the movielife didn't get that much attention, they deserved it! Too bad they already broke up.

  • Yeah and the guitar player of the movielife went to nightmare of view if brandon reily rings a bell. Its one big family.

  • Gotta say - forty hour train back to penn is an amazing album, although it takes some looking for...

  • It's not Ryan Nolan. It's John Nolan.

  • My mind's the weapong...my heart's the extra clip!

  • I love(d) this band. They were one of the bands that got me into this scene. Saw them at the first show I ever went to in Jacksonville, Fla. at the Marquis. Played with Thrice and Face to Face. Unfortunatley theyre all dead now except thrice who might as well be. Anyway...love the song.

  • And why exactly should Thrice mine as well be dead exactly?

    That is all

  • AWESOME Song! Rock ON!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this band would be back together if it wasnt for that egotisctical asshole brandon and his god awful band

  • I F@#$ING LOVE THIS SONG!

  • vinnies gonna play a set of movielife songs in NJ with set your goals as a backing band

  • that sounds awesome

  • WTF happend to these guys? shit they were one of the best bands to be signed to drive thru records. this fuckn joke has gotten outa hand, ne one kno were to dl torrents for 40 hr train back to pen CD???

  • Theres no tor-rent, so just buy the cd. ^^

  • They are in a band called The Avalanche.

  • it's I Am the Avalance...and they're alright. not as good as this.

  • fuck you

  • they split into 3 bands brand new /nightmare of you/ i am the avalanche

  • thats wrong.there was originally a band called The Rookie Lot.when they split up, its members formed new bands. Jesse Lacey, Garrett Tierney and Brian Lane went on to form Brand New, and Brandon Reilly joined The Movielife. he is the guitarist in a brown polo shirt in this vid. when movielife split later, brandon then went on to form nightmare of you who he is still the lead singer/guitarist for now, and vinnie caruana who is the lead singer here, is now the lead singer in i am the avalanche.

  • im confused, wasnt eddie reyes in this band?

  • eddie reyes was in the movielife before tbs. i cant find too much information about it but i think it was before they got signed or before they really became a public attraction.

  • Alex Dunne was in The Rookie Lot as well. He joined Crime in Stereo.

  • aah the days before super tight jeans....

  • bhibeachbum

    yeah man. they broke up.

    peace

  • waitttt..... what happened to them? why is everyone sayin RIP??? pleasssse dont tell me they broke up(that sounds weird but you know what i mean)im kind of a new movielife fan but they're amazzzzing!!! they couldnt have broken up before i even discovered them. nooo. now ill never be able to see them live!!! urghhh.

  • nope, split into several bands includin the brilliant 'nightmare of you' and 'i am the avalanche'.

  • Love this song.

  • love it

  • RIP.

IF THEY ARENT GONNA REFORM THEN WE NEED MORE MELODIC HARDCORE/POP-PUNK BANDS LIKE THIS. ONES THAT ACTUALLY HAVE ATTITUDE AND TALENT. AND DONT CHURN OUT BLINK-182/GREENDAY SHIT.

    great band

  • great song!!!one of my favorite!!!it reminds me of my high school days ^_^

  • same here. I listened to alot of music like this back in high school

  • movielife was amazing...i got to hang with them a few times at shows...awesome guys..IATA rocks too!

  • I miss.

  • awesome song.

  • RIP

  • I remember seeing thursday support the movielife in a pub's basement in Birmingham, England. It's crazy how long that was ago and how much times have changed.

  • Luckily, I am the Avalanche visits my town often enough so his voice is still heard.

We had a little pipe dream where our band plays on the same bill (Which is in the realm of possibility in my town, anyone can be booked)

And we cover Jamestown. The most kickass thing in the world would be him to come out and throw down on some guest lyrics.

Which, if you think about it, Vinnie is still very reminiscent of The Movielife, and a very approachable guy. That's also possible.

  • One of the coolest bands, ever. :D

  • cool song

  • dude!!! \m/

  • I MISS THEMMM
