@KhmerD0g Al-qaeda is involved in all of those conflicts. Also Al-qaeda bombed the Danish embassy over cartoons not Iraq. Muslims kill Christians AND ex-Muslims in Algeria, Nigeria and Egypt for what? Those countries involvements with Iraq? Muslims kill their children for being too western, not for their involvement with Iraq. lol And what of the al-qaeda bombing in Sweden? Iraq again? The 1970 lockerbie bombing? Let me guess. It was about Iraq right? They were mad a George Bush? lol
@KhmerD0g They've attacked China, Russia, Spain. That radical Islam is not a threat because they haven't attacked every country yet is not valid. They're not stupid. They won't attack every western country once. They won't attack Mexico or Canada because they need borders to cross into the U.S. By Western culture, I mean nonMuslim, mostly secular. Islamic fanatics killed Dutchman, Theo Van Gough, not because his government meddles in the middle east, but simply because he blasphemed Islam.
Uyghur are ethnic Chinese Muslims fighting for independence. IRA is a Christian group in Northern Ireland fighting for independence from UK. Basque is non-Muslim group in Spain fighting for independence. The other attacked by Al Qaeda on the train because Spain hosted UK and US meeting to discuss invading Iraq and they sent troops. Russian Muslim Chechens fight for independence. U single out the attacks by Muslims demonstrate u are stupid in history. Hilter?
Oh come on Dan. America politicians are all garbage. I know because I'm an American. They don't follow the Constitution at all. They turned the Republic into a democratic nation.
@KhmerD0g He wasn't talking about politicians. He was talking about the concepts upon which the U.S. Constitution is based. Two very different things. Either way, the U.S. is still a more free country than most European nations.
Ralph Nader is a good candidate. A Libertarian politician like Ron Paul is another good candidate. Unfortunately, they don't get much support. AIPAC doesn't like Ron Paul at all and that group has a lot of money which they can donate to whoever favor Israel even if the candidates' policies are against America. Ron Paul couldn't even run independently. He has to causus with the Republican Party.
@KhmerD0g Nader isn't qualified and I don't like Ron Paul's foreign policy. He doesn't understand the threat of Islamic extremists. He thinks they're mad at us for our so-called meddling in world politics, but there is so much information out there to show that these extremists simply want to spread Islam by violence if necessary to the entire world that I wonder about Ron Paul's intelligence. Newt has a shot but Romney is the GOP establishment favorite that will get the wall street money.
"...these extremists simply want to spread Islam by violence if necessary to the entire world..."
No. Muslims consist of many ethnicity, nationalities, languages, cultures, customs, etc. Muslim Shiites and the Muslim Sunnis don't even agree on the same Islamic principles and they kill each other for that. What makes u think they can spread Islam? Don't forget racism among Muslims too. Besides they failed to spread Islam already by creating negative image.
@KhmerD0g Read my post again. I didn't use the word "Muslims." I specifically used the term "Islamic extremists." And this is not my opinion. There are videos that show these extremists actually saying that it is OK to kill anyone who is not Muslim and that they want Islam to rule the world and they are willing to spread Islam through violence. The videos are all over the Internet. You can get them from Netflix. This is common knowledge. Ever heard of honor killings?
Islamic extremists are not that many. Compare 1 billion Muslims to 15-20 thousands Islamic extremists--few bad apples. U can see that by seeing how many Muslims live in western countries. If they hated Christians so much they would not expose their kids to Christian values and educations in a country that dominated by Christians.
Some few Islamic extremists easily scared the crap out of you. I supposed ghetto gangsters easily scare u--1 million gangsters.
@KhmerD0g 15-20 thousand? Dude! You are so far off on that its scary. PLEASE do some research. Analysts' conservative estimates show that extremism in the Muslim is around 15% of your billion figure. And that does not account for Muslims who aren't extremists per se but maybe are sort of sympathetic to the cause, etc. We're talking about millions of extremists NOT thousands. This is not a partisan political issue. Analysts from all over the world agree on this.
That's how many Al Qaeda member according to CIA's estimate. I don't see 15% of the Muslim strap explosive and blow themselves up--that's great if it happens. As for honor killing, that practice doesn't extend to Muslims living in western nations. We've strong law here to prevent that. Indonesia has the largest population of Muslim and they outlawed honor killing. Some idiot Taliban should scare anyone.
@KhmerD0g There are extremists in the U.K. and U.S. now plotting to blow things up. They are caught regularly. Don't you pay attention to the news? As for honor killings, do an internet search. There have been already many honor killings in the U.S! Parents killing their children because they are "too westernized" or the daughter wanted to date a nonMuslim. This is further proof that the violence of Islam has nothing to do with U.S. foreign policy. They use that as an excuse.
FACT: There's a religious war in the Middle East--Shiites vs. Sunnis, Shiites vs. Israelis, Sunnis vs. Israelis, Muslims vs. their own authoritarian governments and Muslim dictators vs. Israel government.
When UK and USA involved in their religious war expect to get blown up. We're involved because that region is setting on oil that we need--blood for oil. In addition, Israel lobbyists are powerful. They are dragging us in their religious conflict.
I see you as the black plague of America's polity.
Scrap the Constitution...are you a madman?
As far an I am concerned guys like you can go start your own country with your own jacked up constitution. Leave mine alone and don't you try to change it or we're squarin' off.
Too much immature hate on these boards. Americans wish nothing but the best for our European friends! We will trade you a copt of our constitution in return you send us politicians like Daniel Hannan!
You know what's it's all about. I'm an American, and when I was growing up, I was a military brat- I saw many different parts of the world- the good, bad, and the ugly. I know that there are policies that work and policies that don't. All in all though, I can't be 100% certain that our constitution is the absolutely correct frame of government, but I DO know for certain, that the more broad your principles are, the more restrained national leaders will be.
@TheAmazingUploader Well which one the bill of rights or the constitution? Just curious what form of government you would replace ours with? What makes you feel that you should destroy the only things that keeps our government in check? and the only reason it " doesn't work today " is that we the people have allowed power hungry politicians to destroyed it in the name of special interests so that they can become more powerful and to be re-elected.

The problem here is the sub-1000 views this gets as opposed to some celebrity based BS which will get over 1000000 views. To use a US expression "Go figure".
It's due to the obscene value people place on being entertained. A greater percentage of people will correctly answer who won "Dancing with the Stars" than, name the three branches of the federal government.
The EU Commission's reach for power is staggering. They are wholly unelected by any peoples' consent and they have the power to remove democratically elected leaders, i.e. Italy & and Greece. Govt is not one-size-fits-all.
"Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" comes from the United States Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution of the United States of America. That said, the latter works to protect and promote the former.
(As an aside, note the reaction in the background when this gentleman gets it wrong.)
@Aanthanur Daniel is an elected member of the European Parliament, so he has more right to speak for the people than many unelected representatives of the EU Commission who hold the highest powers of the EU. Maybe you should go to China, where the lack of freedom of speech and democracy would probably please you better (although the EU is getting there...).
@Wotanraven The EU clearly has a problem of democracy, but claiming it is working against the freedom of speech sounds more as if you're upset that they are not following your pre-determined political beliefs than that the Union is actually attempting to suppress individuals to voice their opinions.
I wish Randroids would actually try being objective, though the irony is that they are mostly incapable of it.
@Wotanraven the EU's lack of Democracy is actually the reason i don't want my country to join. But there is no restriction to freedom of speech, so spare me that nonsense.
and funny enough. Copieng the USA to the EU would not increase democracy at all....
@Aanthanur but its not a democracy you should want...a democracy is best illustrated by two wolves and a sheep deciding whats for dinner! a republic would be the sheep possessing a loaded gun so as to even the playing field!
@tvicena nonsense, Democracy or even better Direct Democracy like we have in my country means self determination, less power in the hand of Politican and more power in the hands of the people. Having a paper saying "we the people" is fine but actually being able to vote on what is constitutional and what not is far better. Having all that power in the hands of a few politicans and then think you are save from discrimination of minorities is a myth.
I always feel bad when I see a few hundred or a few thousand people out protesting. Its not gonna do a thing. I wish there was someone out there who could somehow rally up millions to rise up and take back our lives.
Funny comment of yours. First of all, slavery and racism are european diseases (establish far before the American revolution), Capitalism is a 400 years old economic system, Abolish education?, in the American Constitution?..really?. Pray instead to think?. .... :D. ... you better began to pray because it's clear than you can't think.
I haven't read your full conversation here, i don't want to take sides, but i just wanted to say that slavery and racism are, alas, universal diseases, and existed well before Europe even. In the Americas, after all, the Aztecs, Mayas, etc. practiced slavery, and who knows what they felt about the peoples around them?
I didn't know that those people (Aztecs, Mayas, etc) were able to establish a "constitution"....:D.... just kidding. My answer to that user it was about his claim over the American Constitution supporting such social diseases which are as old as the human society at multiple levels. In that context, sorry to say but slavery as well racism never really get a sociological and ideological dimensions until its final development in Europe.
@Axon36 Well, we aren't the religionist retards that you are. We've overcome that a long time ago. The US is no better than Iran or Saudi Arabia or North Korea. And it is a good thing the US is failing as a super power. In 20 years the US will be sompletely irrelevant. But what can one expect from a country based on greed and Jesus?
I'm agnostic, dumbfuck!. ... :D.... feel yourself free to "expect" or "think" whatever you want about the US. It makes no difference and you're entitle to do so. On the other hand, we don't waste our time caring about whatever other people (Europeans in particular) may think about us. You don't like this country?...cool....same differences. Take care.
Funny how most of amercia is still not on the bandwagon for "Rights for EVERYONE". When some countries still won't allow people to marry who they want to marry. Or just a general person in their society being discrimnated against because he so happens to not follow everyone elses religious beliefs.
Hey, we got a constitution that deals with just about any subject we can think of, lets copy USA's much simpler constitution since it has yielded such good and fair results for the lower and middle class over there.
why should Europe follow copy USA? wtf. Europe is ten times as good as USA, and there is no point in changing to a system just so the corporations can have more money.
@deepskanker Yes in fact I do. Europe (at least the countries that are still on the left) are mostly functioning way better then america. Copying america is just pure stupid.
To believe that a state or government is anti rights is idiotic, considering most rights that we are so fortunete to have in Europe comes from a combination between strong unions (which dont exist in USA) and governments.
@gulbirk I am english. And the american constitution is one of the most excellent documents laid down for a free democracy ever made. You are obviously oblivious to most of the EU regulations and conditions which pander much more to big corporations than the american constitution does. In fact the constitution pretty much has fuck all to do with corperations. We should have a similar document here. And the problem with america is that it doesn't follow its constitution enough. Troll harder.
@deepskanker You should maybe try to read harder. First of all I am against the EU since its one big right winged capitalist piece of crap organisation.
Secondly, I wouldnt change my country to anything like USA no matter how much someone offered me. Public schooling, public healthcare, not having to pay loads of insurences, higher living standards, more vaccation, 7,5 (and maybe soon 6) hour days, etc. USA`s consitution doenst offer any neccesary rights apart from freedom of speach.
@gulbirk The video is not suggesting be EXACTLY like america you fool. It is suggesting we have a constitution like them! NONE of the things you say are involved in the video WHATSOEVER. You are missing the point ENTIRELY.
@gulbirk The video is not suggesting be EXACTLY like america you fool. It is suggesting we have a constitution like them! NONE of the things you say are involved in the video WHATSOEVER. You are missing the point ENTIRELY.
@gulbirk The US Constitution died with the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, and the Income Tax Act of the same year. Take the document on its own merits, its the best any human beings have come up with so far.
Mr. Hannan - As an American, I thank you for revitalizing my admiration of my nation's constitution. I have always been grateful toward my country's founding fathers, but thanks to your words here, I see them in an even better light. I salute you. Our thoughts and prayers are with the European Union in this time of trial. Hang in there. Thank you.
There has never been a time in American history where more people have awaken to the realization that our federal government has over stepped it power and has to go.
Our country unlike most in the world can run flawlessly and thrive if tomorrow the federal government fell off into the Atlantic ocean never to return. Their sole mission was to defend our Constitution and nothing more. PERIOD!
I am sick and tired of constantly defending our bill of rights from our own gov, given to us by GOD!
Hannan stands far above any of his counterparts in Europe (save perhaps Vaclav Klause and a small handfull of others), however I often get the sense that he suffers from the Grass is Always Greener syndrome. The US has fallen very far from its classical liberal apogee to the point that our remaining liberties are largly vestigil at this point.
Shame the US doesn't exist anymore; not from the perspective of having a constitution. It died with Canada and Mexico when they signed the 'North American Union' which nobody knows about..
All well and good, but lets be honest here. America doesn't follow it's constitution anymore either. In fact they destroyed theirs before we destroyed ours, we are copying them ha. Both are the same, 2 elephants knee deep in the same anti-democratic quagmire.
@Rattlesnakemeuk Yeah I hope Ron Paul is the next president. He is a good thinker and follows the constitution i.e. the law. He doesn't think he's above it or will be above it.
@benmols Definately, we can help as international supporters by signing up on RonPaulForums (dot) com and taking part on internet related activism and other things which we can support (like the itunes bomb - youtube search "end this war" and you'll see what I'm referring to). All the best.
@Rattlesnakemeuk I absolutely hate this attitude. The US Constitution is FAR bigger than some small schmuck like Ron Paul. Do I support many his positions? Yes. But saying the US Constitution rises and falls on ANYTHING Ron Paul thinks or does is like saying God is screwed once Billy Graham dies. Give me a freaking break. It's so disrespectful of the Constitution I want to throw up.
@Rattlesnakemeuk You mean the man who doesn't believe in a rigid separation between church and state despite the fact that "congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion? :P
how does this even compare? the US constitution is from 1776, the EU one from the 21st century...if the US was writing it now, it would be longer too, and probably also concerned with space exploration...

Pray instead to think?. .... :D. ... you better began to pray because it's clear than you can't think.
Axon36 3 months ago
@Axon36
Paleologos 3 months ago
@Paleologos
Axon36 3 months ago
@Axon36 You know the word "Americanization" is the universally used word to describe all negative trends in a society? Guess why.
Europe should not copy America. We've already had our dark middle-ages which America is only just entering.
Meskiagkasher 3 months ago
@Meskiagkasher
Yes, you did had your "middle-ages" but you're still medieval. BTW, I don't give a shit about Europe, so do as you please.
Axon36 3 months ago
@Axon36 Well, we aren't the religionist retards that you are. We've overcome that a long time ago. The US is no better than Iran or Saudi Arabia or North Korea. And it is a good thing the US is failing as a super power. In 20 years the US will be sompletely irrelevant. But what can one expect from a country based on greed and Jesus?
Meskiagkasher 3 months ago
@Meskiagkasher
Take care.
Axon36 3 months ago
Funny how most of amercia is still not on the bandwagon for "Rights for EVERYONE". When some countries still won't allow people to marry who they want to marry. Or just a general person in their society being discrimnated against because he so happens to not follow everyone elses religious beliefs.
FFXFREAK572 3 months ago
Hey, we got a constitution that deals with just about any subject we can think of, lets copy USA's much simpler constitution since it has yielded such good and fair results for the lower and middle class over there.
(sarcasm intended)
triovani 3 months ago
why should Europe follow copy USA? wtf. Europe is ten times as good as USA, and there is no point in changing to a system just so the corporations can have more money.
gulbirk 3 months ago
@gulbirk do you have any fucking idea what you are talking about?
deepskanker 3 months ago
@deepskanker Yes in fact I do. Europe (at least the countries that are still on the left) are mostly functioning way better then america. Copying america is just pure stupid.
To believe that a state or government is anti rights is idiotic, considering most rights that we are so fortunete to have in Europe comes from a combination between strong unions (which dont exist in USA) and governments.
gulbirk 3 months ago
@gulbirk did you watch the video. Or see the title pause it and gob off.
deepskanker 3 months ago
@deepskanker I watched it. It was a rant ( basically) about how the america constitution is compeared to the constitution of most countries in Europe.
And then he ended by saying that its because of our bad constitutions that we are in this mess, thats BS. Total BS.
gulbirk 3 months ago
@gulbirk I am english. And the american constitution is one of the most excellent documents laid down for a free democracy ever made. You are obviously oblivious to most of the EU regulations and conditions which pander much more to big corporations than the american constitution does. In fact the constitution pretty much has fuck all to do with corperations. We should have a similar document here. And the problem with america is that it doesn't follow its constitution enough. Troll harder.
deepskanker 3 months ago 3

I am starting to wonder if Mr. Hannan is a fan of Mark Levin.
Almost sounded like something out of "Liberty and Tyranny"
May you stay strong and keep fighting against the dark.
icegryphon 3 months ago
Hannan stands far above any of his counterparts in Europe (save perhaps Vaclav Klause and a small handfull of others), however I often get the sense that he suffers from the Grass is Always Greener syndrome. The US has fallen very far from its classical liberal apogee to the point that our remaining liberties are largly vestigil at this point.

All well and good, but lets be honest here. America doesn't follow it's constitution anymore either. In fact they destroyed theirs before we destroyed ours, we are copying them ha. Both are the same, 2 elephants knee deep in the same anti-democratic quagmire.

America's Constitution is the best ever conceived. Our politicians however endlessly invent ways to usurp its conception.

@Rattlesnakemeuk If Ron Paul didn't want to sneak around the establishment clause, I'd agree entirely

Rattlesnakemeuk 3 months ago
@Rattlesnakemeuk I absolutely hate this attitude. The US Constitution is FAR bigger than some small schmuck like Ron Paul. Do I support many his positions? Yes. But saying the US Constitution rises and falls on ANYTHING Ron Paul thinks or does is like saying God is screwed once Billy Graham dies. Give me a freaking break. It's so disrespectful of the Constitution I want to throw up.
