I believe society is in a transitory stage, where it's becoming more accepted. The popularity of gay chicken, I would imagine, will eventually go down as people become more like you and realize how little of a deal it is. But acceptance has come a long way, from beating or killing gays to daring each other to imitate them. It's a wave that after it passes will leave most people wondering what all the fuss over sexuality was about.

I can imagine that if you visualize the wave like a bell curve, we're on the upswing but before the crest. As the wave is passing, there will be resistance. theboycrys25 has already had the wave pass him and there will be some that will never allow it to pass.

With Prop 8, gays have been very center stage and the tension is building on both sides, which results in more hate crimes.

I'm not saying there's a magic wand and everything gets better. As blacks fought for equality, violence rose.
