@bobszvetics1 i get your point i think its annoying that its called "the untouchables" when its about the criminals themself..... but its still kinda good it should just have been called "public enemies" or something like that the pilot "the scarface mob" was really good though
@kallemick look dont get me wrong i loved the robert stack series but it is fiction its a shame that elliot ness wasnt realy like this if you want the truth pick up the dvd the real untouchables hosted by james woods
@bobszvetics1 so eliot ness never pushed frank nitti off of a building? XD and frank nitti never assassinated 2 untouchables wearing a white trench coat and fedora??
@hurricanesofhell pick up the dvd the real untouchables hosted by james woods ness was a good man but not the superman like he is in the book tv series and film dont get me wrong i loved the robert stack series and the film but its pure fiction
@bobszvetics1 But if he wasn't very superman like.. O_o then why was he nicknamed a (untouchable) and the rest of his team?.. o_o and just by curiosity... O_o did ness ever run after suspects get into shoot outs between criminals and bank robbers??.. O_o that sort of sounds like something a guy like him would do.. but i guess its because i played a lot of L.A. Noire. >_>
@drcoxcentral the guy that wrote dragnet was sued for ripping off the melody of the killers by miklos rosza the detectives theme sounds like dragnet backwards
Man , I used to love watching this show on Sky Channel back in the late 80's. I must go and see if it's available on dvd. If not it absolutely should be. Class stuff!
I remember seeing the closing of the Untouchables(from 1960) that was followed by: "This has been an ABC Television Network Presentation" with the Big "A" logo of that time.
I remember this show opening with elliot ness pulling a box of cartridges form a desk drawer and loading a revolver and the crowd at the opening was live that switched to silloette ,can't find it anywhere.
mean story..mean acting ...mean theme song...i was scared silly of this theme song as a young boy when this show was on..despite all the meaness it was American TV at its finest.
@Marauder0090 the untouchables was supposed to be the first violent cop show but dick tracy came before that with people being shot at point blank range they actually have worse today someone had his leg blown off in jag in color and a handicapped person was knocked out of his wheel chair in some made for tv movie its supposed to be ilegal to depict that .
I sure am glad you posted this, this tune had been boucing around in my head and I just couldn't recall the source. Then I searched QM Productions and then it hit me...The Untouchables! So finding this post helped me more than you know! Thanks again!
yeah! Love it.

This is from TV's first 20 years. A time when great theme songs were as important as the content of the shows themselves.
