if you bothered to watch the video they were lighting the tires up in 2nd....not to mention it was in the middle of summer when they ran the test. for the car to run mid 12s is impressive in those conditions
i'm italian and i live in modena ,where ferrari are made . but i hope you can continue to produce muscle cars because i think its importante be different each other. but you have to find alternative fuels (alcohol) 'because you can not and do not have continued to make war for petrol. i love usa cars. ferrari now have too electronic . italy made the strongest car ever in the past. watch for example LANCIA DELTA S4 with blower end turbo. this is true italian race style. i
Dodge does need to drop some weight off the challenger, Chevy needs to do the same with the camaro. The mustang is still a bit to heavy as well, but alot lighter then the others. If Chevy and Dodge drop some weight from their cars they'd get better MPGs as well, which would make the tree huggers happier to. A win/ win situation.
We have missed you dearly over the years. At first we thought there was a glimpse of hope since you all decicded to bring back the challenger, and then we were slightly disappointed with the 6.1 "hemi". But now, what with the 392 and now a 426 hemi, well you just won this guys heart back again. I almost cried.
Very nice looking car , but I was expecting more - my 5.0 ran 12.6 trapping 117 ! on stock tires . with dr's I'm in the 11's ...the Dodge , its just too heavy .
I love all muscle cars but lean toward Ford the most, the reason being there cars have traditionally weighed less of the big three. When I found out about this beast I had hope, they claim its the "Street Legal version of the Drag Pack". But in the Drag Pack they dropped 1,000lbs. In the 1320 they just drop 200lbs?
i would agree with reid it isnt hooking and with better reaction times the car would be 10x better. idk why they did a independant rear end i would thing the solid rear end would be better imo. but who knows. but if you could get a better driver in there and it to hook would shave a lot of time off that clock
blows the tires off through 1st and 2nd @ 3:32 and still runs a 12.79 is most impressive for a 4000 lb car. looks like mopar needs to address some suspension issues to get this thing to hook.
Seems it was'nt hooking up all that well, but anything that well boil the tires with that kind of weight is Impressive..Keep us posted, great video~Thanks!!! oh! and Can I have your job for just one day?
I agree, but you have to admit its pretty impressive that an "off the showroom floor" GT Mustang can basically run with this purpose built "special" Mopar with air lockers and 500+hp. I think it should send a message to Mopar to lighten the car if they ever do a redesign.
@50tbrd88 I cant argue the weight issue lol.. Yes its a pig.. but 12.5's to 13.2-13.5 is a big difference . In a race thats not really that close at all in action. BUT I agree its still to close for what it is... I really think this car has alot more in it.. Ive seen consistent mid 13.5 - 13.7 out of the 5.7 stock I own one. 50hp more with the srt8 runs consistent 13.2 - 13 flat and thats at around 425hp Im finding it hard to swallow 75hpish here is only breaking half a sec shouldbe like3qtr sec
@50tbrd88 A new 5.0 certainly would give it a run for its money, though it's not really fair to compare 1/4 mile times unless you know for sure that each car ran in the same atmospheric conditions.
(Nevertheless, I'd take a standard 5.0 too and pick up a set of drag radials.)
Just to heavy
