  • Great video very well done

  • thanks

  • kinda does!

  • Cool Turbine!

  • thanks it is cool!

  • I saw one of these before...

  • ebay? they are on there all the time!

  • I remember that vacuum windshield wipers were often used up through the 60's or so buthave never seen a vacuum fan...very interesting!

It should be able to run off any car engine if you can tap into intake manifold vacuum.

  • yep the same company trico also made vacuum powerd wiper motors!

  • Cool! so they used to use those in old cars?

  • yep

  • I've seen those on e-Bay. Looks like it moves a good amount of air.

  • it does when i run it off of both cyls on my vacuum pump! it will out power a hand held battery fan anways lol. thats about all it will out power!lol but its still a neat little fan. and most unusual

  • that's a new one on me. Really neat. I assume that came off an old car or bus?

  • Bam! it is in fact a vehicle defroster fan that could even be a perfect accesory to your buick! search for trico fan on ebay! i got this one at an antique store!

  • great idea...would be real handy

  • sometimes if your lucky enough to look at the right time you can find them in there original boxes with instructions and hardware! i like this style best i feel they hold up better than the leather bladers! they look better to!

  • Wow really awesome! I wonder if they had those in buses too, it reminds me of a bus fan

  • i guess they could have been on busses but those are usually 12 or 24 volt dc 6" fans. ive never seen a 3" vacuum fan on a bus but its possible! i run it off a 2 cyl Gast Roc-R oiless vacuum pump/compressor my neibor gave me from a hospital. it would have been an expencive little thing!

  • That's a neat little fan1 Never knew they made those.

  • oh sure the same company made vacuum powered windsheild wiper motors to during the same era!

  • wow for its size it sure moves air!

  • i guess, more than a AA battery fan anyways

  • LOL! definitely!

  • That's wild!

I've seen water powered fans on ebay.

  • yeah but vaccum fans are a whole lot more affordable lol!

  • The best fan video on YouTube! That is what one calls made of Awesome!

  • thanks

  • well if you really think so send this vid around for me to show others what you think of my vids!

  • Awesome! Was this made for use in an automobile?? I have never heard of/seen one of these!!

  • yes it was it is a defroster fan. it would run off the engines vacuume system

  • they can OFTEN be found on ebay in two forms! one like this with aluminum blades and a cage, the other version with leather blades and no cage! you will need an antique car engine or a vacuum pump like i use to run them though! ill make another vid of it as soon as i find the time!
