Thanks for that you forgot to mention your playing that's got a hell of a lot to do with it, keep it up i learn a little more with every video you post.
I'm using Elixir strings (I use nothing else these days on any of my instruments), but it's not any existing store-bought 12-string set. Since I tune down one whole step, I use an Eliir Light-Medium 6-string set and then just add the doubling and octave strings individually.
My first (D) strings are .012 and my lowest, 11th (also D) string is a .056.
Be aware though that I both mike the 12 and use its internal bridge pickup, record both of those into Garage Band on one Mac while recording video on another Mac; then I take those 12 string tracks and duplicate 'em and add effects and EQ until I'm downright blue in the face. So it's not just about strings! The main ingredient is the guitar itself; you can't get big beautiful sound out of it unless it has some of that to start with.
Hey now, I'm so delighted to know you're covering Neil Young songs...I never knew you liked him/them. This is a beaut. I have to say the most haunting, gorgeous cover of it I've ever heard is Dolly Parton's. I'm gonna look to see if that's on YouTube, too!
Another excellent tune alonzo.

This is my favorite of all the "suite" songs! LOVE IT! Tell me, is it twice as hard to play a 12 string as it is to play a 6 string?
