I can buy that her transformation would change her physical mass. But the mass of the guard she just murdered in cold blood would still remain consistent as he did not ingest any such mutagnic material.

Thus he should have still been the exact same size and mass when she changed back, killing her by bursting from her insides.

But theres a difference between suspension of disbelief and just chucking it out the window entirely. Im being exceptionally generous with the alien form being substantially larger than her to start with. Where does that mass go?

It being Disney is entirely beside the point. That doesnt give them a free pass for not adhering to even the basic tenets of logic and physics. No excuse for sloppiness.

This scene is so disturbing. Couldn't she have scared them off? Was it really necessary to eat that guy? I mean yeah he was going to arrest them and was something of a brute, but I mean, come on! This is from Disney's "My Favorite Martian", released Feb. 1999, based on the TV show (sort of) and featuring Jeff Daniels, Christopher Lloyd, Daryl Hannah (turning into a monster in this scene) and Wayne Knight as the voice of the suit. Of course, there's more cast than that.
