@lutang15 Ballet in fact came from Gung-fu. Since the Chinese and Russia, who are the main progenitors of ballet, often exchanged a lot of cultural information and ideas, they took the performance version of Gung-fu which the touring Opera troupes practiced and today is known mainly as Wushu and adopted it into a more stylistic type of dance. My Gf who took ballet for years could not believe that I knew many of the same moves, turns, jump steps, kicks and the like, but with fighting application.
I was told the original meaning of "Kung Fu" was developement of ability over time. As in, you've got great Kung Fu or you have great skill developed over time. In the general sense the term can be applied to any skill even outside martial arts, like Michael Jordan had great Kung Fu in basketball. Some people say Gu SU or Wu Shu to speak specifically about martial art, is this correct?
yes u are right when the word Kung Fu or Gung Fu is used it means Hard work over time to gain a skill. Doesnt doesnt mean its only talking about the chinese are system. Wu Shu means Martial Art like the systems but since they have a style walled Wu Shu ppl separate them by calling one kung fu and the other wushu. but im sure you get the point.

lolol I'm not sure how western countries integrated Wushu Kung Fu into their everyday lives but personally I don't do that stuff until I'm at karate class. If anyone finds a way to incorporate this into school, standing in line, etc. please tell me.
martial arts are about self discipline as well as learning to defend yourself. everyone in line might be complaining about how long they have to wait and you might be the only one who isn't. it's also to better your lifestyle as a whole. it gives you a form of exercise that'll put you in better shape and often help with everyday things like carrying groceries into the house etc
Wushu techniques and Gung Fu techniques are very different, mane
