Aunque un poco rápido para las versiones que conozco se compensa con el empuje y pasión que le pone el maestro Koopman. Algunas entradas de la sección de viento son incorrectas
Liked this performance for the most part. Although that was NOT my idea of Allegro Maestoso in the final movement there. Methinks Mr. Koopman has been conducting too much period music.
We should overcome the heathen celebration of Halloween but instead let us celebrate this day as Reformation Day, the day Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the door of the Wittenburg Church.
The polyphony going on from 2.15-38, and echoed again at 4.30... can anyone else hear Mozart meets Bach?? Quite an homage to the heroes of old, men of renown. Beautiful passage of composition. No one's posted yet, but I would LOVE to see the 3rd movement from Mendelssohn's 1st up here someday. Such an amazing piece!
This is the most inspiring thing I've heard... Makes me wanna change my life... Make bigger efforts! It's a great piece... Surprises me how unpopular it is =/
El bello himno de Matin Lutero, "Castillo Fuerte es nuestro Dios", resulta hermoso oirlo en la versión sinfónica que le dio Mendelssohn. Comparto la opinión de CharlesFernando7; ¡¡Sonido heroico!!
Great piece of music. Also a great example of why conductors should always use batons. I know this is blasphemous but Koopman looks like Homer Simpson conducting after one Duff beer too many.
@carminum Google translate- "'ll Tempo a little too early Vn arpeggios in the middle, and Ssu-fold slower tempo hard at it (laughs). I thought, and listen as a whole, it was much hesitation, ♪ It is also good Reformation of goods Mon Ssu Koopman cat formula is always look cute."
Thanks for posting. I played Clarinet II on this piece seven years ago in college. I notice that the clarinets are playing C clarinets. We had to transpose one step up on B-flat clarinets.
BTW- I had the pleasure of meeting Ton Koopman in person, and attending an organ recital of his. Very talented man.

Great performance by the Orchestra. However, I never noticed these before, but here are a couple of "oops!" moments.

I appreciate that they used trombones that were historically appropriate- ie, alto, tenor, and bass ( no valve, with a handle!). Fine job!
