He might be confusing the term 'Latino' in Spanish and the term 'Latino' in English. Many people do that. In his interview in germany he said he speaks imperfectly in Spanish and in English. Spaniards are White, Hispanic Europeans but not Latinos (in English). Pero, en Espanol, si, son Latinos.
