Is Obsidian Conflict good? Looks a bit bland. Doesn't even have its own sound effects. I think Fortress Forever or Zombie Panic are probably the best ones. The wait for Black Mesa continues..

@Aphorizm Sven coop used all the same sounds too, but that was a great mod and still is one. However I see where you're coming from I'm getting sick of hl2 sounds since it's been around 6 years. Although keep in mind this was all my opinion so don't take it too seriously! I made this so more mods could get populated and it seems to have worked a bit.

@DominicHax Yea to solve the sound issue with HL2 and its mods just go to gamebanana(dot)com then click sounds then look for HL2 and on the 2nd or 3rd row you will see the "The ultimate sound enhancement for hl2" by a guy named "Strelok" He has made the best replacements for stock HL2 sounds thus far.

@Aphorizm I have played OC, and it is pretty fun. Most of the maps are fan made so you have a hgue array of game modes, and the co-op can get pretty intense if your teamates have mics

There's a posibility it would work for certain mods, but i suggest buying episode 2 if you just wanna play mods, or if you have an ati video card or a nvidia video card, you can google ati steam offer or nvidia steam offer and one of them gives you hl2 for free
